4 days wondering why so quiet, admin stopped my migration out, and blocked my instance, then pretended he couldn’t reach me. When I could log back in just fine and toot to him and he erases my own posts.

You know one reason I can think of why an admin can get so pissy because you left AFTER multiple announcements saying “oh no, we’re not hitting funding goals and it might need to shut down cupoftea.socia!!” is to avoid everyone else to stop donating and leave.

I never asked how much it costs, I just made room by leaving and THANKED YOU for the time I was there.

Blocking my instance? You’re in your right to do whatever you want but WHY mid-migration? What is wrong with you?! Under which authority do you think you can morally stop me from talking to people I’ve been chatting with for more than FOUR years ?

Thank God I’ve automated backing up of everything.
Others don’t have such luck, put years of investment in curating a social graph of people they consider family and one rogue admin blocking their new domain mid migration is all it takes for it to be destroyed.
No wonder they leave.

Shenanigans of funding of course, didn’t you notice the awesome vmst.io closed three months prior, I’ve been commenting about it and how much I miss Stanclift every other week. Why would I want to be on an instance that just mentioned it “might” close barely just moving in.

sorry before I go to bed, I decided to block him from this account and my GtS account.
Then I went it to completely shut the other account…..silly me.
oh did you know if an admin blocks you from using your own account he’s got your several PII hostage and thus breaks GDPR because plain and simple: delation is no longer posible?
The fine is 4% of annual turnover or £17.5 million.

One final thought before I go to sleep.
I can be back and forth, maybe not post for weeks, adn then come back and post 90 times in a day, that’s me, you’re used to it. Now think about this, I’ve been here since roughly 2022, I discovered it running away from Instagram, not Twitter, I never got hooked to Twitter, I find it awful.
Back by 2022, I got my diagnose, I wouldn’t be ALIVE without Mastodon. I got HERE and nowhere else the support I needed, I’ve been through so much….
….in so many levels (124 CD4, absolutely poverty, discovering I’ve got ADHD, etc etc) and shared intimate details not even my closest friend knows here. And with all that background now imagine someone deciding, JUST because they didn’t like you leaving to put THEMSELVES between you and the people who you consider family. Who in many way knows you and understand you better than your own family.
