I worry that some people aren’t taking Omarchy seriously enough. It’s not just another Linux distro. It’s a well-orchestrated campaign to centralize power and influence within the Linux FOSS ecosystem. And it’s working. Anyone paying attention to DHH and what he stands for can see what’s going on here. When the guy who thinks that brown people don’t belong in society hires the guy who thinks trans people shouldn’t exist, you can see where this is going.

To get started, click the new "Manage Mastodon cross-posting" button on your Pics dashboard page in omg.lol. Authorize the connection to the Mastodon-compatible instance of your choice, and then configure your preferences. You can opt to automatically post all new pics by default, or manually post the ones you wish. You can also set your desired posting visibility (public, unlisted, or followers only). Pics can only be cross-posted if they include alt text. When cross-posted, your pic will be attached as media to the post; the post will also have the text description (separate from the alt text, which is attached to the media itself), a link back to your pic's page on some.pics, and any tags that you included on some.pics (which show up as hashtags on the post). Changes that you make in some.pics should sync up automatically on Mastodon. And within the some.pics dashboard, you can selectively remove any published pics from Mastodon, as well as manually publish other pics that you uploaded before enabling cross-posting. I hope this helps everyone enjoy sharing more pictures and photography on Mastodon!

For anyone seeking an unbiased account of what this is about, I highly recommend this piece: https://coyotetracks.org/blog/pressure-to-stay-genteel/ To this day, Manton still hasn't denounced the transphobic statement made by his employee, or the barrage of harassing emails that his employee sent to an omg.lol member who was offended by that statement. He clearly knew that it was a bad look, though, since he removed the employee's name from the Micro.blog website. He also still has not made a clear and unequivocal statement of support (or even acceptance) of queer people. The closest he's ever come was "Micro.blog is a good place for LGBTQ+ people." He probably thinks this post is a "personal attack", because any time a privileged white man's integrity is questioned, they feel attacked. But this post is just me sharing facts. They may be inconvenient for Manton, but they're 100% true.

Elon Musk owns X. Solely. There is no board of directors; there is no higher governance structure. X *is* Elon Musk. When you "return to X", you're supporting Elon Musk, full stop. There's no way around it. When you post there, you're contributing to him. Directly. So if you're not going into this with your eyes open, you're fooling yourself. But if you *are* going into it with your eyes open, you are the problem.

Uninstall. Sigh." And posted about how sad he was to see the heteronormative Apple emoji being replaced by inclusive, genderless versions. He pays for a blue checkmark on X, cheers for Elon, and is a member of the Micro.blog team. If you use Tinylytics or Scribbles, this is what you're supporting.

Vincent is incredibly talented, but he can't stop doing and saying bigoted things. At a time when people are increasingly concerned with a measurable rise in fascism and are fed up with the likes of DHH for his desire to see Europe ethnically cleansed, Vincent is still out there posting nice things about DHH on X.

You can work with anyone you want, and those folks can hold whatever views they want. But separately from that, you can still choose to point to something wrong and say that it's wrong. Even when it involves a friend or colleague. When you won't do that, you leave people to assume that you think it's right. I know that feels unfair, but silence has always leaned toward complicity.

I think you and I would make great friends. I mean that. Even now. But I can't be friends with someone who refuses to acknowledge harm in all of its forms. Not just in world leaders or other influential people, but—and especially—when it's in our own neighborhood.
