#Blaugust2026 Day 30 – What I Learned In Boating School It's the next-to-last day of Blaugust, and I suppose I should talk about what I learned this go-round with it. That I should talk about what things started to become clear to me as the month went on. It really feels like this month blew by, didn't it? Either way, some things did stick out, at least for me. g is for get_or_create Django's get_or_create is great. It lets you search for something in the database and craete it if it didn't exist. Django’s ORM has a neat shorthand for when you’re creating new objects in the database but some might already exist and you want to reuse them rather than always create new ones. QuerySet’s get_or_create does all that on a single line.
