She ate a little bit of chicken about an hour ago, other than that we've been syringing recovery fluids into her mouth. Today she actually swore at me and struggled a bit.

Ming has finished the course of painkillers and is showing determined desire to go out, which we're not allowing yet. She's eating, playing, but it'll be a few days until the drugs are cleared from her system and we'll then see how she is.
Cautiously optimistic.

Ming is home - they had to sedate her for blood testing, because she's so bitey. She's super happy to be home, and has eaten three tiny bits of chicken but refused a dreamie still.
All blood tests came back fine, she's really healthy... they think she's just queasy.

AutoWok on #makershour: A5 I try and help out where I can online, but other than that we're back at my first answer, the kids. They know i will teach them to use any tool i have, and I encourage them with their various making (3d modelling and coding come up quite a lot as they both study games design)

Took the back off one of my printers, trying to fix an intermittent error. I don't think i solved it, but the printer is freshly lubricated now, at least!

Ming update: she's a little more active, but still floppy and sleeping a lot. She's on two lots of painkillers still, so she's probably fairly stoned.
She IS eating, little and often, and finished off the last of her rescue fluids from a saucer by herself. She's washing, but she hasn't slapped valencia in ages, and she's still not right. Hoping it's the painkillers, and that when we withdraw them, her appetite remains.

Back. Anti nausea jab, gabapentin, and she's home. Ate some chicken and some cheese.
Got more gabapentin in pill form for her, too

Won't stop eating. Having to slow her down to prevent her from vomiting. She's also absolutely, completely, totally, off her tits. Mullered. Stoned. Caned. Fully in the yellow submarine.
Vet says this'll reset her appetite, or, when we stop giving her painkillers, show it's pain stopping her eating, which would mean medical imaging time.

Seeing vet at other practise at half seven for more anti nausea medicine. They're not going to charge out of hours rate as we rang first thing.
Just got another 10ml of rescue fluids into her.
#projecthailmary releases in cinemas today. Thanks to my health, I can't do cinemas. Really really want to see this film like almost no other before it. *sigh* will have to grab it on stream.

But yeah, car analogy is good, most people get them as a means to an end, others tweak their timings, fit low profile tyres and anti lag turbo.
And the mechanic earns extra from the ones who wanna be racer type!

@kianryan@oldbytes.space @LewisWorkshop@mastodon.online I think that's where bambu have gained traction, the printers are exactly plug and play. Compared to running my cr10, my p1s is like going from manual typewriter to word processor.
They're not without their own faults (the post hack firmware lock down for example), but it's made it so printing isn't the hobby, what you need the prints for, is.

Valencia has decided we are all Suspicious. Won't come when called, runs if you go to her. Still comes on her own terms, so it's fine, she's just seen her adoptive sister repeatedly wrapped in a towel and made to drink Stuff, and she wants none of that, thank you very much.

Ate a little more chicken and had a wash. Also had a little more fight when I made her take her fluids last.
We phoned the vet at 830 this morning to ask if they looked under her soft pallet while she was sedated, as she has major ear polyps. Was told the vet would call back. They didn't, rang just now (1645 local) and was told the vet wasn't in today. I was a bit annoyed and said "we paid you over £600 yesterday, you said phone if we have questions, we have questions you're not answering!"

"It's not your fault personally, but when I pay the better part of a grand I expect a level of service that you're not providing"

I've always made stuff. Changing a computer game contents using a paperclip was my first, but all through my time working with #playschemes and play buses we made things, and my mum ran a soft toy business who supplied the local Lions chapter with lions for a long time, and i helped with that too.
