So Jehan did a talk about GIMP as a community project yesterday at LGM, and I'm afraid I have more questions than answers. This is my rather salty piece about the takeaways.
Remember that time in 2018 when @GIMP@floss.social got a $100K donation from a Web3 startup through GNOME Foundation? I wonder how much of their Web3 tech got into GIMP, because of course that's how sponsorship works 😆
Anthropic is not a great company, some of their practices are outright vomit-inducing (remember the burning of books?). But there have been other corporate sponsors, and Blender hasn't succumbed to their will yet. I wonder why. Could there be *gasp* a policy against that?
