Like, he might be Straight™ by today's standards, but that man fucking hates women. Not a single positive reaction with any woman other than his own mother. But Enkidu? Sexiest thing he's ever seen outside of a mirror. Dragged him into a one-on-one bro camping trip the same day they met. Went to the actual end of the earth for a shadow of a chance to have him back. @csolisr A lot of those people are studying antiquated or dead languages, so I'd guess that's the main thing. Personally, I wouldn't bother myself with learning to touch type Phoenician on a US English keyboard, for instance.

@yon@sakurajima.moe Demon Kings are presented as chill guys ruling over many different species of 'demon' that the Human Kingdom and their near monoculture just don't like for whatever reason so often that I'm starting to wonder if perhaps some of those Japanese authors might be making some kind of commentary… Like, actually evil Demon Kings seem to be pretty thin on the ground right now. They're not common at all.

@yon@sakurajima.moe Unfortunately what happens is that you run out of VRAM, the sprites are too big. You could maybe do some funky business with transparent video files but that's probably an abuse the GPU's decoders aren't tested for.

@yon@sakurajima.moe Only mostly! Number of boxes is a fair bit lower 'cause of ROM collections, but I've got ~100 PC games on physical media. Mostly older stuff now, obviously, but still. I'd still be getting more, but a lot of the older English-language PC games are either in the US or UK (wonder why that is :Thinking: ) and those two countries in particular charge a lot to ship things to Australia. I don't really want to drop A$40 on an untested game and then another A$70 on postage.

@ami_angelwings@urusai.social I'm bad at remembering favourites but to steal your suggestion: Amy Rose from the Sonic the Hedgehog series is definitely up there. She's generally very competent, has varied hobbies outside of Adventure, and is one of very few cast members well rounded enough to be trusted to live on their own (i.e. we have photographic evidence of her having purchased a vegetable at least once). Most importantly, as of the end of Sonic Adventure has trained herself to be super strong out of pure spite. She's a very cool and admirable character, trapped in a series about someone else that for a long time hasn't really known what to do with her. Probably because she's too cool.

I really like the idea of playing Virtua Fighter but every time I try a tutorial in these games it hits me with some input I just can't figure out how to do. Brings up unpleasant memories of getting the hang of FPS controls.
