@NanoRaptor@bitbang.social I've wrote a bunch of code and tests for the #OpenStreetMap API and recently found out that over a decade on much of the code is still there or only minor modified (eg a formatter has been run over it).

@GeofCox@climatejustice.social @Fishd@infosec.exchange @ChrisMayLA6@mastodon.me.uk water isn't privatised in Scotland, so not a while UK model. Publicly owned up here with the cost paid as part of the Council Tax bill.

@LaChasseuse here's a couple of pictures I took when I was in Wick during the school Easter holiday of the turbine blades. Whilst we were in the Wick museum one of them got moved.

My local council are planning to stop using Twitter.
I suspect some of the follower removal could be users deleting their own Twitter accounts.
I wonder if they will start a Mastodon account, though little tracking of metrics.
I think it's key that information isn't held behind proprietary platforms that require a login.

@DiogoConstantino @rominator @Techaltar I'm on a Fairphone 4 and don't feel much need to upgrade. Depending on what you are doing, a more powerful phone could work better, but for the average person it's probably enough. My wife is on my Fairphone 3 hand me down and it's still doing fine.

@rubyjones@wandering.shop @Ashmire@pagan.plus @sundogplanets@mastodon.social yes artic is short for articulated lorry. Less commonly used mow than simply lorry or truck.

@Stratski@mendeddrum.org ohhh, is that the two tricks that I'm missing when sewing my pockets. Not cutting the bad bit off and not turning it inside out. Using those two tricks should hopefully make it easier.

I'm glad I don't have a car with the latest shenanigans of the car park companies charging £100 if you or any of your passengers set foot off the site of the shopping area the car park is for, even a neighbouring shop.

@drsbaitso@infosec.exchange @sundogplanets@mastodon.social these are all terms that are unused here in the UK. Lorry, truck, or articulated lorry to specifically reference one that has a point that turns. They are driven by a truck driver. Lorry driver could also be used though less common now.
As someone else mentions almost all European trucks are can over engine so bonnet is flat vertical and pretty small.

@jez@mapstodon.space building=house should be a single dwelling. building=yes is something I try to avoid as undistinguished or unknown.
I'd have expected more building=retail for shops, pubs, cafes, restaurants, etc

@cmccullough I spoke with a tile shop I was buying from about this as they dropped their website and I was worried they'd gone out of business. They took the view that they got few visits to their website and people shared the final tile install on Facebook, so better to be where people are sharing things.

@LaChasseuse no issues with the buses that we took. We were staying in Thurso, so was just a day in John O'Groats and Wick. An area to get back to at some point.

@spacelizard@aus.social @sundogplanets@mastodon.social with the cab over engine designs in Europe the whole cab can flip up to access the engine. The term semi is something I'm only aware of due to having some Americans in my feed and having watched some American YouTube channels.

@anon_opin@mastodon.social so agree with this. Schools have got rid of the computer labs and given all the kids iPads instead. We have people coming into the workforce who have no idea about what a file or folder is.
