Fatima Hassouna, a photojournalist from Gaza, was the subject of a documentary that was recently accepted into the Cannes Film Festival.
Within 24 hours of Israel learning about it, she and ten members of her family including her pregnant sister were killed in an Israeli strike.
The film is titled Put Your Soul On Your Hand and Walk.

I've been wondering if there's any field in IT—whether it's programming, design, AI, or something else—that doesn't require owning a laptop to study.
I studied three years toward my bachelor's degree, but my laptop was destroyed when my home was bombed.
I'm thinking about starting over and studying something new because my heart still belongs to technology. 💔

@luis_in_brief It makes sense from a moderation perspective. Even a small percentage of bad AI output becomes a huge workload when the scale is massive.

In order to build a toilet (restroom),
the following are required:
- A basic toilet seat without a flush: 1500–2000 shekels
- Toilet seat cover: 100 shekels
- Bidet sprayer: 30 shekels
- Silicone: 150 shekels
Total: equivalent to about 1000 USD.
These are only the supplies for the toilet seat itself. I haven’t even asked yet about the prices of wood and tarpaulins. Imagine that this is just the cost of the seat alone for a toilet made of fabric and sheets.

▪️ Women and girls spend long hours every day (6–8 hours) just searching for a small amount of water… a journey filled with exhaustion and humiliation just to survive.
▪️ The average person in Gaza gets only 3–15 liters of water per day, most of it not even safe to drink.
Clean drinking water? Barely reaches 2 liters a day—far below the minimum standard set by the World Health Organization.

What is happening with fuel shortages and rising prices in Europe and elsewhere shows how economic and political crises ultimately affect ordinary people, not decision-makers.
And in the same way, we in Gaza are also paying the price every day, even in the smallest details like the increase in gas prices from 60 to 75 shekels (about $16 to $20).
In the end, civilians are always the first to bear the consequences, anywhere in the world.

@cwebber Lately, people on social media have been focusing a lot on mistakes and picking at each other, so some have started turning to AI for blog posts and other content to make everything look “perfect” — or at least that’s what they think.
But the result is often boring, repetitive writing with no real spirit or feeling.
Honestly, I’ve gotten to the point where I can read a post and immediately tell whether it was written by AI or not 👀
