We use the only mechanic shop in town that didn’t have a Trump sign out in front last election and we quit eating at a restaurant which put up a sign for our current state senator, because she’s an awful human being.
Totally agree with spending your money with people who aren’t actively working against you.

Amazing how people who don’t have to spend time in traffic or dealing with office politics are more relaxed and happier to actually work.

My husband’s multi-branch company found that people actually completed more work when they were home for the mandatory wfh, so they told everyone they were welcome to do whichever they preferred when rto was okayed.
The only caveat was if they found you weren’t being productive, then you would need to come in. A few people go in of their own volition (too distracting at home, too lonely at home), but most stayed remote. Fewer than 10 were told to RTO for not getting their work done.

This reminded me of when one of our kids went on an exchange trip to Germany.
We had hosted a kid from there and ours was staying with his family a few months later. Their teacher for the trip had expressly told them not to bring or wear clothes with US flags because it would be thought inappropriate there. One yeehaw girl showed up at the airport in a coat with a huge flag on the back. 🙄
The teacher was not happy.

I quit using Ecosia when I searched “terf” and it gave me “gender critical” positive garbage pages back. Doesn’t surprise me in the least that they’re potential union-busters.

Honestly, it doesn’t even mean that. Scalia made shit up wholecloth to push through his ideals, and the rest of the SC Republicans have gone full Calvinball following in his path.

From some unfortunate personal family experience, he may very well be in an induced coma. Even if they’re able to bring him out, this doesn’t end well for him, most likely.
I’d feel sorry for him if he weren’t such a destructive human being, but because he is, I don’t.

It sounds a lot like our (US) Rep reps & senators touting themselves backing a “bipartisan” infrastructure bill when the vast majority of those claiming so didn’t.
They forget that not everyone has a short memory of their dastardly deeds.

It really is horrid. You block one number or email and three more take its place. It’s a hydra of donation requests. I donated to the *person* I wanted to donate to, quit already.

This is awesome! I was so disappointed when the one in Omaha closed. I hope their sales improve.

There are always a few dipshits who have to ruin things for others. Nothing new here and it says nothing about the city it happens in.

I miss the little green open-topped square paper containers berries used to come in back in the 1970s.

Is this what they mean when they say they’re disrupting* the industry? Two crashes in one week. Impressive non-governmental work, guys. 👍

My expert would have said “the floor.” 😁
She was tall enough for “counter cheese,” but too polite to take it.

An update: The local police departments for OPS (OPD and BPD) have been told to stop using them in schools.

It was incorporated in the 1870s. It’s a small town in the Midwest, just like thousands of other small towns which also have railroad tracks through them. Believe me, no one there would consider themselves “hosed”. They enjoy living in a small town. I don’t, which is why I don’t live there.

It’s small town Midwest US life. My hometown, around 5000 people, has tracks directly through the center that have been there for over 100 years. They don’t have the money to even build pedestrian bridges over the tracks.

But long trains are the best, especially when your house is on one side of the tracks and the local hospital or school or your workplace is on the other.

Bob Evnan in Nebraska lost his primary over turning over our information. Of course the guy who won is a dipshit election denier and even though the Dem candidate is significantly more qualified, I’m certain we’ll have an election denier sos in January.
