Lets get real.
For starters, anything 'disposable' should be illegal.
And the marketing of disposability as a 'feature' should be a crime punishable by death.
Because that's what the flesh dripping ghouls profiting on deliberately-designed waste are doing to humanity.
Burn them.
Hang them.
Tar and feather them.
An example has to be made.
Before they make one of us, the first species to knowingly hasten its own extinction.

Just finished this one.
A couple of factual inaccuracies (no, 'G' in physics does not mean 100 times your weight - it is earth's gravitational constant 'g' in this context, and yes, chimps do actually teach one another), plus some idiocy no fault of the author (chimps don't understand 'zero' dear researchers, true, but neither did humans until a millennium or so ago)...
But overall, a well-researched informative read - highly recommend.

I've seen one show: commendable, if workmanlike, periodically corny, touching, and, therefore, inevitably formulaic, if well-organized.
I didn't not enjoy it.

I binge-watched a bunch of yt chimp docs last night & quite a few were obviously AI prepared/narrated and full of idiocy (one distinguished the defining features of chimps, baboons and lemurs as follows: 'brains', 'brawn', and 'matriarchy').
For those who've not read on chimps/primates before, or who are not as prepared to question the content, it'd be impossible to separate the plausible from purely nonsensical rubbish.
It's not just slop we’re being fed.

I'm doubting the OpenAI framing.
Their story is murky:

More likely, imho, is OpenAI likely targeted Hugging Face, got caught, and decided 'went rogue' (becoming normalized as cover fire, as you've noted) sounded better than 'caught stealing'.

Somewhere in the mists of time, I recall attending a lecture at a university renowned for math, CS and and engineering during which a video was presented showing how one day every keystroke of the gals (all gals, it was then & forever) in the typing pool would be captured to allow total management oversight and control.
A frisson of excitement and the thrill of pending vengeance rippled through the privileged room, as if, finally, an enemy might be vanquished.
