We had Socialdemokraterna (social democrats, our most center-left party) pop by around 11am, to remind us about the election (and hand us election ballots).

We headed out about an hour later, and had no line whatsoever thankfully (I sat down and rested a fair bit)

Interesting thing about how people who live with chronic pain experiences certain types of pain ... Where, let's start with this: a good personal trainer should always tell you that "if it hurts when you do a movement, listen to your body and stop doing it". If a personal trainer or similar who *isn't* someone that knows your particular physicalities well tells you to "work through the pain" ... Please don't listen to them! Anyways, when I do stretches and exercises, all of them hurt. Always. But you need to learn to listen to your body to distinguish between pain that's ... "acceptable". As in "I'm stretching this muscle, it hurts, but not in a way that feels damaging" and what isn't "nope, that movement is absolutely not okay"

I really like this show, but they are *not* accepting of anything resembling a happy ending.

Main couple? She dies
The sweetest female character in the show (married off to the emperor, with children half again her age, for peace, but who actually finds happiness with him)? Dies
The sweet guy who's almost making one of the side characters consider marriage and love? Dies!

(simplifying this with slight stereotyping for comedic effect)

Women: "We don't like that media, ads and the internet is objectifying us in a way they don't objectify men, and would like more equality."

Internet: "Okay, here's looksmaxxing, where mostly men objectify other men in the name of 'this is what women wants'. Now men get to deal with self-esteem issues, ED and feeling like a failure for their appearance too. That's what you wanted, right?"

Women: ...

My brain just can't stop imagining a particular conversation between director and actor(s) around a c-drama I've been watching.

In Pursuit of Jade (historical drama) we have a decently minor side character named Song Yan. He appears in a handful of episodes (let's call it 5 out of 40), because he's an ungrateful snake of a scholar who got out of the engagement with his "childhood sweetheart" (our main character) ... whose family had bankrolled him and his mother for years while he had "focused on his studying".

Anyways, the funny thing is this: there are two actors credited with the role of Song Yan. One who's credited with playing his face, and the other his body <.<

Socks! These were made using yarn I never expected to get any use for (my sister's family gave it before I was doing socks, and it was sock yarn), but now it's perfect! And I found out that with the heels in the contrast (black, despite the picture showing navy blue), one ball is enough for a pair for me, so I'll get two pairs out of this, wee!

They've got an eye of partridge reinforced heel (heel flap & gusset), wedge toe and princess soles (reverse stockinette on the bottom)

@aisling @filmfreak75 @autistics Many years ago (long before I knew I was autistic) I went to a lecture that stuck with me (and still does) on autism. She had a few examples of specific people/scenes, from her life as a teacher. In one instance a child needed to get something mathematical explained to them, and she went "look at me closely" and started explaining. And at the end of the explanation, kid had absolutely no idea what had been said *but* knew that the teacher had a tiny spot on their right eyelid. Because they'd looked at her closely, as she told them. Another (not related to eye contact) was a student that she had to expand the explanation of "I'm busy teaching" several times, because the things the student saw as important for there to be teachings/class going on weren't always there. Like, sometimes when she taught there was a projector ... but not always. Sometimes the desks were in a row, other times in groups. Etc.

He was told that there was no need, for the day of summer they would just put the sled outside and sit on that. (not sled, technically, but I'm not sure that particular item exists much outside of this context)

Themes/subplots:

Daga is ace. I'm not sure exactly how (and if) this will come into play, as while she is married ... her husband's quite willing to wait with anything beyond them sleeping in the same bed (because space and all that)
Her mother and her mother's best friend are ... "more than friends". After the death of Tyrgil (and the death of Daga's elderly grandmother), Gylla moves in with Daga and Jorid, so the three of them create the core of the "let's just survive" faction
I want to keep a balance of tragedy and hope. While I don't know how many (with the exception of Daga, since she is the main character) will survive, I want to make the deaths meaningful, even if the cause is natural within the context (in an epic about Swedish immigrants to the US, we have one of the main character's children dying because while hungry she eats oats that haven't been fully treated ... and it swells in her stomach)
