Thankfully the weather is cooling down a bit tonight! - Even the birds seem to be more abundant. I always struggle to ID these crows though, at least beyond the genus level. 📷️️️️️️️ Sony A6700 🔭 TTArtisan 500mm F6.3 🎛️ 1/320, F8, ISO 1250 🎨 darktable 🪿 Crows, https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/7998-Corvus 🪿 House Sparrow, https://ebird.org/species/houspa #Birds #Photography

Every morning I step outside is a chance to see something cool, like today! Good morning from this amazing multi-coloured pal. 🪿 European Bee-eater, https://ebird.org/species/eubeat1 Not just bees, caught this one snacking on a wasp. They sound really cool too! Wish I had recorded it. It's my first sighting of such a bird so I'm real excited ☺️ #Birds #Photography

Went and touched grass in Évora yesterday, with a lil stretch of walking along an Ecopista 🥾

Ecopistas are cool because they're made using decommissioned railway lines, and are developed to accommodate cyclists and walkers :) Being old railway lines, the paths are looooong, but flat.

I didn't respect the sun properly though... so caught a bit of sunburn 🌞

Hello / Hej / Olá 👋

Just made to move to front-end.social! 🥳 (Thanks @ben@front-end.social )

I love #HTML, #CSS, and #JavaScript, 11ty is my fav SSG, and I've recently been enjoying Vite for little experiments and SPA projects. Currently working on a lil weekly planner and kanban system.

I also love nature, board games, and a bunch of other stuff I'll probably share from time to time.

Until I have a personal website to share (it's currently WIP...), here is a random CodePen I like: https://codepen.io/HejChristian/pen/VYYwqza

Now I just want to find an alternative to GitHub Desktop. Sublime Merge looking nice, Fork too 👀

Trying to learn/understand the camera settings a bit more.

There was a Cattle Egret earlier but as soon as I got close it flew off, and I had no chance doing this handheld.

So another house sparrow it is!

For some reason hundreds (thousands?) of ants decided to take the palm tree seeds from a felled tree in our garden, and are transporting them in a line into the field next door.

Not just palm tree seeds, all sorts. Look at these industrious lil fuckers go 💪

Solo/freelance folks that don't need public repos, if you're not using GitHub, what are you using?

Asking because I want to start moving my eggs outta that basket. I've been considering Gitea (maybe hosted via a PikaPod?)

Getting my ass saved with quality articles like this. I’ve come back to this one a few times now; it always helps me navigate adding a table onto the page.

CSS pals 💜

Anyone pulled off something like this before? Perhaps you've seen it on a site in the wild or experimented yourself. Please help 🙏

A responsive CSS grid (size doesn't matter) with visible grid lines that go beyond the contents/grid-cells

So far I've tried pseudo ::after/::before, linear-repeating backgrounds, and I'm currently trying to make it work with a duplicate grid overlayed on top...

EDIT: @chriskirknielsen@front-end.social cracked it! 🤩

Doing away with an "Estimated time to read". I don't know you, nor should I make such judgements. Might keep a word count though, even though it's not a metric I myself use/check when reading posts.

@Curator I suppose "crazy" would be considered part of the list, similar to #2? that's one I find myself tripping over sometimes and have tried to avoid. and when I grew up in the UK it'd be quite common to hear "mad" used in a similar way. "that's crazy/mad" Thinking about it, I struggle to find a word that I could use in such an example 😅 But I will try! 💪

@chriskirknielsen Oh nice, will for sure check that out, thanks! ☺️ What a fun lil project, nice design too! My only exposure to Elder Futhark has been this little paper cut project with some of the runes, and also when on a Nordic roadtrip we were _this_ close to seeing a real historical site/runestone, but turned around defeated after the long walk there because of a closed gate. We later learned from our Airbnb host that we could have just opened the gate... it was only to keep the cows in 🤣

It's just not a good fit for my work-style for now, and while I did get CSS variables working in this one 🥳, Vento was the next hurdle that I couldn't overcome. Broken syntax highlighting and it kept defaulting to HTML comment blocks instead of the Vento style (Not a fault of Gram itself!)
