#TuneTuesday picked a great theme this week; #EnterNight!
This riff will live in my head for the rest of the day, for free.
👥 Weezer
🎶 Enter Sandman (cover, obv.)

I really love the little call out to their own song, masterfully placed in the middle of the song, and now I wonder what Buddy Holly by Metallica would sound lime.

After two days of Pitfest, we sold a lot of donated shirts to finance giving folks who suffer from cancer and their loved ones a nice experience with music. Mainly to make them forget their troubles for a bit and just have a good time.
The reactions of the visitors was hearth warming, had nice chats, reminisced about loved ones, received donations and generally had good vibes all around.
For this #ThursdayFiveList , let's open up! Let's have everything #WideOpen
Five songs about opennes. Opened doors, opened gates, opened eyes, opened hearts, the very act of opening something… just being open!
Blood Incantation - Stargate [Tablet 1] https://song.link/i/1756051277 ("Open the Stargate")
Tool - Third Eye https://song.link/i/1474185477 ("Prying open my third eye")
Opeth - Grand Conjuration https://song.link/i/214473447 (opening yourself to outside influences)
DVNE - Abode of the Perfect Soul https://song.link/i/1725205874 (opening a portal)
Ahab - The Sermon https://song.link/i/1184713113 ("I saw the opening maw of hell")
The #ThursdayFiveList today has the theme #LgbtqPlusMusicians, honoring pride month. So, here we go! 🌈
Ashenspire - The Law Of Asbestos https://musiccloud.io/gC_jI
Agriculture - Bodhidharma https://musiccloud.io/yBwg3
Dool - Vantablack https://musiccloud.io/q_z0b
Morke - To Carry On https://musiccloud.io/B9M54
Traidora - Una mujer trans sin país https://musiccloud.io/BSbOk
This was harder to figure out than I thought, I don't seem to keep a running lists of bands I like that actually have members on the LGBTQIA Rainbow.
#Pitfest day 2 is live!
Come pick up a donated shirt for charity and ask me for an exclusive metalhead.club sticker!
On #Saturdoom, the fediverse comes together in an occult circle and starts chanting rituals to summon music from the doom-plane of existence, happy #Saturdoom all!
Inspiration for #doom can come from many places, the occult, the beauty of nature, the slog of existence, the weather, the forces in the realm beyond or what happens deep under the oceans.
Please feel free to join in by sharing your personal favourites or new discoveries. There are no gate keepers here, everything goes and everyone is welcome!

#HashTagGames #DoomMetal #DeathDoom #FuneralDoom
Late #Saturdoom addition by me since I just got back from #Pitfest. This gem was brought to my attention by the Dutch podcast Zes Losse Tanden.
The Chilean melodic death/doom outfit return after a silence of 16 years to bring us a first glimpse of what will hopefully be a whole album. This is just beautiful!
👥 Mar de Grises
🎶 Surrender to the Fall
🔗 https://musiccloud.io/dvy6v
Another round of #TuneTuesday comes around. The theme this week is: #GuitarsAndStrings; songs that reference stringed instruments in their lyrics, or my take, songs that use a string instruments in combination with guitar.... but, guitar is a stringed instrument.... don't over think this!
👥 Ne Obliviscaris
💿 Portal Of I
🎶 And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope
🔗 https://song.link/i/523723475
Since this song totally lures you in by not being black metal and suddenly turning out to be just that.
Dutch black metal geniuses Fluisteraars made a whole series of three EPs where they went to locations of former Dutch castles, wandered around and put their impression on to music. So, since they sing about castles that once were, you could say these castles are litterally; #CastlesInTheSky. Today’s theme of #TuneTuesday
👥 Fluisteraars (Whisperers)
💿 De Kronieken Van Het Verdwenen Kasteel III - Grunsfoort (The Chronicles Of The Vanished Castle III - Grunsfoort)
🎶 Sediment Der Impressies (Sediment of Impressions)

It is #Saturdoom, a day where we shine the spotlight on doom music. My spotlight / eye of Sauron today focusses on the German funeral doom from Lone Wanderer.
👥 Lone Wanderer
💿 Exequiae

Pitfest day one was a blast! Tomorrow I’ll bring some metalhead.club stickers! Now time for some shut eye.
*Organ pipes blasting deep dramatic notes*
"Left are the kings of the Carnival Creation.
Carrying out the echoes of the fallen".
#BlackMetalMonday
#BlackMetalMonday today and I need some energy to get me through the last bit of work today. So here we go, posted here before, but they deserve more visibility.
👥 Terzij De Horde
💿 In One Of These I Am Your Enemy - EP
🎶 In One Of These I Am Your Enemy https://terzijdehorde.bandcamp.com/track/in-one-of-these-i-am-your-enemy
💬 "Unlimited Power. Unlimited Danger"
Best show at #Pitfest was, as it was last year, the local heroes from Skroetbalg, bring furious #PunkRock in the local Nedersaksisch/Niedersächsisch (Low Saxon) language spoken in these parts of NL and the neighbouring regions in Germany.
The whole tent AND the merch area outside where singing / shouting along with this gem:
👥 Skroetbalg
💿 Skroetbalg
🎶 Hol Oen Bek (Shut your trap)
A Skroetbalg is a person who is very full of himself, a so called windbag.
Note: I had to check the spelling of the song since the dialect differs here in the more northern parts of Groningen.
Star Wars day always feel odd to me, since in NL we commemorate victims of war on May the fourth and celebrate our liberation in May fifth.
Anyway, happy Star Wars day all. There might be a reason that my parents gave me this name…..
Just little coincidence with #TuneTuesday's theme #CastlesInTheSky. Fortress Festival is kicking of this weekend in the UK and I'm looking at the lineup like it's a dream come true. Sadly, I can't go.

@HailsandAles@metalhead.club Kobo offer some colour displays with e-ink I believe and is not linked with Amazon. I like my Kobo for reading and the ability to shift the screen to a more reddish color in the evening hours.
That colour shift is the only reason I replaced my aging Kobo which worked perfectly fine, though became a tad slow.
A Kobo reader will happily digest any .epub or .mobi it is presented, no matter the source :)

@Bishopjoey@writing.exchange I’ve driven the original 2CV, what a contraption if you’re used to modern cars. Though iconic design and very good on the suspension, this car is an icon like the original Panda.

@kathimmel@mstdn.social It happened here in the northern provinces of NL. But some of those clinics now face closures since their employees are walking out.
It is time for #Saturdoom again! A day where we shed light some beautiful songs that fall within the genre of doom.
Everyone is welcome to join in using the hashtag! Please do! There will be no gate keeping here!

@niels@indieweb.social Roadburn 2024 they played there. It was the edition with the lineup that convinced me I should go to Roadburn.
My addition for this #Saturdoom is NL based band Doomcult and they deliver what it says on the tin, 100% doom.

🎶 Sacrifice

From their new record; Sacrifice All Life.
This song is so slow it starts venturing in #FuneralDoom territories, and I love it for it.

@Kitty@metalhead.club @HailsandAles@metalhead.club Thanks! Did those steps, only reason for doubt is the label, but they have 'good' bands or the label to.
And since I'm not on the big tech social media bubbles I can't really search those platforms.
Forgot to upload my last Bandcamp Friday haul.
Forged Relics - Portal (Funeral Doom)
Lucerne Hammer - Vermillion Pyre (Raw Black Metal)
Winselmutter - Ketzergeyst (Raw Black Metal)
