You may or may not be able to notice it, but Fediverse admins and mods are currently fighting an annoying fight against various spammers - lately the "Yevheniia" spam wave. It takes mods and admins a lot of time and nerves to suspend spammer users, _after_ some damage has already been done. As of now, Mastodon does not have any heuristics-based alerting systems or tools that help fight spammers on the Fediverse. The only thing that we can do is _react_. We're in a poor situation. Let's change that! Therefore I've raised this ticket: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/39997 I ask every affected mod and admin to push this idea 💪 #mastoadmin

KI nimmt nicht nur den Spaß aus der Unterhaltung, sondern auch aus der Arbeit.

Aus Perspektive von jemandem wie mir, der gerne Software entwickelt: Klar kann die KI noch nicht *alles*. Natürlich muss ich als Entwickler noch etwas tun.

Aber Ich lerne beim Anweisen des Bots nichts mehr. Ich habe kein Erfolgsgefühl. Da war eher kein eigener Geistesblitz, der das ganze Softwaregebilde zum funktionieren gebracht hat.

Das ist nicht befriedigend. Und ich finde es außerordentlich schade, dass wir anscheinend im Begriff sind, das Handwerk aufzugeben. Für mich ist es eine Leidenschaft, die mit Kunst vergleichbar ist, weil man kreativ und geschickt dabei sein kann.

Alte bayrische Weisheit: Es gibt Breznbäcker und es gibt Semmelbäcker. Keiner kann beides in guter Qualität herstellen. Man hat die Wahl. Das heißt dann auch, dass man evtl. zu zwei verschiedenen Bäcker fahren muss, um das Optimum rauszuholen. Für mich hat sich das bisher immer bewahrheitet. Ist das auch woanders bekannt? 😅 (edit: und dann gibt es da noch "Backstube Wünsche". Der kann gar nix 🤷‍♂️)

Oder wie stellt sich unsere smarte Bundesregierung das vor? Naja, vielleicht lohnt es sich wenigstens und ich kann noch ein paar Patienten mehr dort anstecken. Wie realitätsfremd können Politiker eigentlich sein? 🤬 Scheiße, echt, dazu fällt mir nichts mehr ein... 🤐

Ich bin übrigens kein "KI-Verweigerer". Ich nutze das auch immer wieder mal, obwohl ich mir der Risiken und Nachteile durchaus bewusst bin.

Ich war noch nie ein Freund von Schwarz-weiß-denken, wenn es um solche Dinge geht.

KI hat mir so manches mal auch schon aus der Patsche geholfen oder mir Dinge erklärt. Auch das ist KI.

Nur ich sehe gerade viel zu viel Begeisterung und viel zu wenig Beschäftigung mit Lösung der Probleme, die durch KI erschaffen werden. Es wird eine Technologie absolut übertrieben gehyped, die noch nicht zu Ende gedacht ist.

Das macht Bauchschmerzen.

It makes the storage system unavailable. As a consequence I have updated SeaweedFS to the latest release - hoping that it will resolve this issue. Thanks for notifying me!

Is there a globally available BGP Tunnel Provider who has POPs in Ashburn (USA), Singapore and Frankfurt? ... And uses Green Energy solely? I couldn't find such a provider. Für ihr IPv6 deployment brauchen sie wohl auch zig bis ~ 100 statische Routen, die in netplan hinterlegt sind. Warum zum Geier?! Was ist falsch mit denen? Das _kann_ doch kein sauberes Setup sein? :goose_rage: (zumindest war das wohl vor einigen Jahren noch so. Aus dieser Zeit stammt die Maschine, vor der ich sitze. Keine Ahnung, wie es jetzt ist). IPv6 RAs oder DHCP6 wenn's sein muss und gut is? ... Was muss man denn da noch groß statische v6 Routen hinterlegen ... 😫 #ovh #ipv6

@cjk@chaos.social ich hoffe, dass du Recht hast damit. Ich hoffe (und das tue ich wirklich!), dass jede Menge Leute mit Anlauf _richtig_ auf die Schnauze fallen. Weil sie sich in Abhängigkeiten begeben haben, die sie nicht mehr loswerden und finanziell nicht mehr bedienen können. Dummerweise könnte das in die nächste Wirtschaftskrise führen und am Ende zahlen wir alle die Rechnung. 🤷‍♂️ Das wäre dann meine düstere Prognose... 😕

Ui, offenbar wäre ich fast bei Kleinanzeigen abgezogen worden. Die Betrugserkennung hat zugeschlagen. Wieso, weiß ich nicht.

Aber eigentlich hat der Verkäufer einen vernünftigen Eindruck gemacht. Hat ein Profil von 2012 und noch eine andere Sache im Angebot gehabt. Nen Tisch. Wer ahnt da schon böses?

Edit: Kann natürlich sein, dass das alte Konto von jemandem gehackt wurde und für den Betrug missbraucht werden sollte ...

@cjk@chaos.social bisher nicht, aber ich fürchte, dass man als traditioneller Entwickler schon bald keine Chance mehr haben wird, mit dem Tempo der Ki-Kollegen mitzuhalten. Die sind natürlich schneller. Vielleicht (noch) nicht besser. Aber seit wann zählt denn ein tiefes Verständnis davon, was man gemacht hat? Hauptsache, es funktioniert "irgendwie". Dann ist der Chef happy. Und machen wir uns nichts vor: Gerade Programmiersprachen sind ein Gebiet, wo KI glänzen kann und wo ich Potential sehe, dass sie in Kürze viel bessere Ergebnisse produzieren wird, als der gemeine Entwickler. Denn der hat vielleicht nicht alle Fallstricke auf dem Schirm.

Die Formulierungen waren so, wie man es von einer KI kennt: Was man vorher geschrieben hat, wurde nochmal wiederholt. Habe die Unterhaltung dann in einen KI-Checker gegeben und zuerst hieß es, man sei ganz sicher, dass der Text von einer KI käme. Habe dann ein bisschen mehr von der Unterhaltung reingekippt und auf einmal war das Ergebnis: Hier schreibt ein Mensch. Ist also leider auch nicht ganz zuverlässig.
