The best time to do that is when the person has decided for themself whether they are male or female or both or neither, and whether they actually want surgery (so when they are an older child or teenager or adult). Unfortunately the surgery is often done on a baby. If, for example, the surgery makes the baby look like a girl but he grows up feeling that he's a boy, then that's devastating. @SecondUniverse@autistics.life

@bammerlaan To help with learning #crochet stitch anatomy and how to recognise stitches for counting, you might like to find some yarn that changes colour in very short segments, with abrupt changes rather than smooth transitions. If you crochet something like a small square with it, the frequent colour changes mean that many of your stitches will have two colours within them, which makes it easier to see which bits of the yarn form which bits of the stitch. Using a thicker hook than recommended for the yarn might help too, as parts of the stitches will be more spread out and more yarn will be used per stitch, increasing the chance of a colour change in each stitch. Yarns like that tend to be cheap acrylic in my experience and I wouldn't normally recommend them but they are good for this purpose.

@slothrop I love it! It captures the essence of kayaking. You can see the water moving and surging around you. You can feel the tilt of the kayak and the unbalance that you need to control with the paddles. You can sense the danger of the rocks that you need to steer around. You've captured all that with lines and angles and shading. It's great. Art doesn't need to look realistic to be good.

@Radgryd I'm very grateful that @MsDropbear42 made that post because I had no idea I could so easily set the about:config settings in a text file, which I can then copy between computers to adjust all my current and future browsers easily. I use Waterfox so Firefox's LLM features don't affect me but I'm delighted I can use this technique for other settings.

It's using information that is already available to your phone (Bluetooth IDs that other devices are already sending out on their own accord) and merely making it easier for you to be aware of that information. @yjeanrenaud@tech.lgbt
