Krishean Draconis
He/Him They/Them
I aspire to write cursed code and be a minor nuisance
Crimes are stored in the devel branch
Yes I run Linux (and suffer for it)
If I follow you it's probably because you showed up in my feed too many times
Generative/LLMs are not welcome here #NoBot #NoAI
Migrating over from @krishean@mastodon.social , this might take a while!
it's a horrible day in the neighborhood, and you are a beautiful goose
to be fair it wasn't a complete cobol parser, more like it added or removed the required line numbers, reformatted the code, and automated the calling of the compiler commands so i could write simple cobol code in notepad and get a compiled binary by running a single script, instead of having to do the awful 9 step compile process from whatever development environment the college was using to teach at the time. it was also written in jscript, so not quite javascript but very similar
the english language really is unsuitable for communicating anything serious when "up high" and "a pie" can be pronounced identically, for example:
"i need you to get something, up high"
"i need you to get something, a pie"
amazing, not a single mention of ai in the latest windows insider newsletter
even so, you've permanently lost me as customer microsoft, everything runs linux now
here's the chunk of my script for patching red hat and derivatives
grep -E 'algif_aead\.ko$' /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/modules.builtin >/dev/null 2>&1

lsblk | grep -i 'efi' >/dev/null 2>&1

remembering that prairie dogs sound like squeaky bus brakes
i should work on that python thing i was writing again, to check for new youtube videos from channels i was following via their rss feeds
(something something yt-dlp watch with vlc later like some kind of dvr and not have to deal with youtube's awful platform decay)
