#Queens Early Gen-X nerd ❤️ 🇹🇼☕🐱. Online since 1992. He/him. Bi/ace🏳️‍🌈 . White lapsed Catholic/Immigrant/ESL/Citizen. Not nice but tries to be kind.

Notes: kindness not extended to bigots. Reverse racism isn't a thing. Being called out for behavior harming others doesn't make you the victim.

Emergency responders shouldn't be forced to play nanny for self-driving cars. Any of them that misbehaves should be impounded and the company responsible for these cars heavily fined (not returning the car until fine is paid). Any vehicle with multiple violations should be confiscated and scrapped as they've proven to be unsafe.

@gwynnion@mastodon.social No lies detected in your thread. After a promising-ish start, she then basically fully embraced Biden's extremely unpopular platform including his stances regarding Israel/Gaza. She lost a large fraction of the 2020 winning coalition at that point. I was dreading the election as I saw that trainwreck happening.

@VATVSLPR@c.im @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org I roasted coffee in the kitchen *once* (we have a very good vent over the stove). That's when I decided that I would always roast outside after that attempt.

I'm really hoping USA BlueSky posters start using a cross-posting tool to a Fediverse instance soon and let others know about it. Especially anyone organizing for left(ish) candidates in primaries and general elections in November.

Things are not looking good over there right now and there needs to be a backup plan.

Just blocked an account posting about climate change yet using a lot of genAI images to do so. That's kind of like writing "Save the Earth" on a massive SUV with a fuel-guzzling engine. #climateChange #genAI

@vocalone@mstdn.social @mayintoronto@beige.party Fediverse feels a lot like FidoNet, Usenet and early web forums, which would be very familiar to GenX. Not a surprise that many old farts like me are comfortable here - it does come with what was not so great about the era as well though, lots of gatekeeping and a very male/white dominated culture. Good thing the fedi is getting better, but the old echoes are still present.

@blogdiva@mastodon.social Yep. And US Americans should learn that AOC, Bernie and Zohran are actual centrists (center-left is a centrist flavor - the best centrist flavor). They only appear far-left when compared to the very right wing corporate Dems. It seems that some voters have finally figured this out.

@gwynnion@mastodon.social Dems also love pushing away immigrant voters who supported them in the past, reminding them their job is to vote blue no matter who regardless of how awful Dem leadership happens to be.

PBS Eons is one of my favorite Youtube channels: very cool videos and they make comments like these:

"Wondering if we used AI to create graphics (or thumbnails!) for this video? Nope! Every Complexly video is lovingly, painstakingly human-made."
