I’m proud of what I accomplished in my thirty-five years building software — including ten years building iOS software for Apple — but when my wife, Caitlin, and I moved to Edinburgh in the autumn of 2024 with our five cats, I became fascinated with the history of our adopted home. The more I learned the more I pestered my wife with constant interruptions of “did you know random curious fact?”
Now I make shit up and write it down.

In light of our impending move to the Netherlands¹, can anyone recommend Dutch language classes for cats? I don’t want our kids to have trouble socialising.

@acf One of the challenges with surveys like this is crafting the questions. I struggled with a few questions that presumed AI should or would be used when I wanted to answer that I didn’t think it should.

@jwilker@wandering.shop So it can mesh to other APs or it can connect to other APs via POE. For POE you’ll want a switch, naturally.
I currently have it meshed to another one just like it and directly connected to another. I’ve also had it mesh to the in wall unit we have (which is not in wall, because we’re renting).
I don’t think I even have a version of Xcode that runs on my current Mac.
