Just made two of these doors for the garage. Turned out much better than expected, although now to fit them onto the large "cranked hook and bands" hinges, which as far as I can tell have no room for mistakes 😬

Door 1 of 2, cut, fitted together, and squared, pre-glue-up. First time I've tried to make a door from scratch with mortises & tenons and it's turning out ok so far. There'll be some tongue and groove boards on the outside and both doors will swing open at one end of the garage. The second door is almost at the same stage but needed a bit more wood since some of it was warped. I'm also waiting for some clamps before I can glue them both up, so won't be finished this weekend

The cheap table saw I bought for this renovation died just after the very last cut of the project. Couldn't have been better timing

@mrwalker@mastodon.social I remember that, and other similar discussions! It might have been in the context of https/TLS client certificates, or maybe the handle system being used to authenticate using public keys.
Passkeys are great in that they are public key authentication made easy. I wonder though if there's a reason that it doesn't seem possible to use the same keypair on many different sites. Is that meant to contain the damage if a key is compromised, or to protect privacy?

@radex@social.hackerspace.pl are you saying that person X might trick person Y into using X's public key on a site? I wouldn't think that would be possible because presumably person Y needs to sign some kind of challenge when registering the key to prove that they have the corresponding private jet. It's likely that I've misunderstood your point though.
