As the powers at be have covered up this new #Banksy work, the only proper course of action by a concerned population is to spread the image as far and wide as we can before it disappears. #protest #Banksy #Freepalestine

Europe now needs to stop siding with America for defence. Stop buying their equipment. Form a new version of NATO minus the Americans. Form an army of their own to protect itself from threats which now includes America. This disastrous war is the evidence that the world needs to move forward without America and quickly! Oh and the King of England shouldn't be going to America to give him a photo op. The American Empire is dead... #ByeBye

Maidin mhaith

Some good news this morning!

Congratulations to Hannah Spencer on making history last night.

The Green Party win their first ever
By-election.

It wasn't even close in the end...

Hannah Spencer (Green) 14,980 (40.69%, +27.53%)

Matt Goodwin (Reform) 10,578 (28.73%, +14.67%)

Lesson for the day...Give people an alternative to the fascist message of Reform & they will vote for #Hope

Comhghairdeas le Hannah Spencer

He threatens allies - maybe those allies should look to each other instead to heading to the court of Mad King Donald. A sit down with this man isn't worth anything anymore. Also, maybe just maybe the countries that that host military bases for them should ask a hard question - if he is prepared to attack Greenland on European soil, then why let him station troops in Europe? If he carries out his threat out to leave NATO - then demand he closes the bases and takes his soliders home.

If we want to normalise the debate concerning #immigration then the words that journalists use should be looked at.

One journalist on the #BBCNews24 has just said 'ex-pats' to describe those British/English people who have moved to Dubai, should they not be described as economic immigrants and in some cases tax dodgers!

We are currently on holiday in #Cavan at the moment but I wanted to share these photos with you all.

We went on a guided tour of #Newgrange, Co.Meath* today. We were allowed into see the inner chamber.

We stood inside a Neolithic Chamber that was built 5,200 years ago, which makes it older than Stonehenge and the Pyramids of Giza.

There are no words to explain how that feels - we are merely a dot on the timeline of this earth!

*for Mark 😉

Who actually is the one that has weakened the 'Special Relationship' - the threat to the UK in my opinion comes from America lead by Trump.

Also, why should the UK aid America when their Commander in Chief insulted the ultimate sacrifice that 457 British personnel made in Afghanistan - 'they stood a little back' according to Trump.

It is pathetic the way that the British media goes on about the Special Relationship with America -it makes the British look pathetic.

I have just heard Hannah Spencer's winning speech that she gave last night, what struck me, is that she doesn't sound like most politicians these day on TV. She sounds authentic.

Hannah reminds me what a Labour politician should do! If Labour can't do this, there is alternative to them - the Green Party.

She apologised to her customers for not being able to fulfil commitments.

No wonder the establishment are frightened...

Happy St Patrick's Day ☘️☘️ from Northern Ireland were politicians who despise everything #irish at home even down to opposing the Irish language on signs and love nothing more than attacking Kneecap, a rap group that raps in Irish, are currently attending the American court of the Mango Mussolini celebrating everything #irish 🤷🏻‍♀️

The DUP & Ulster Unionists are happy to have their photos taken with a draft dodging convicted liar and felon. Just so they can get one over Sinn Féin! #pathetic

Also from my trip to Newgrange, Co. Meath yesterday (Hi 👋🏻Mark) in our tour group there was a lovely couple from America. We started talking, the conversation started like most but then the lovely lady mentioned the troubles that America is currently experiencing - her whole demeanor changed. She became tearful and sad when talking about her friends who work hard having no food because of the ongoing shutdown. Also, she is frightened that her country won't recover from the tyrant.

that we were all seen as terrorists, that wasn't case with those of us who lived in NI during the Troubles and that isn't the case with Americans during these current troubles. It was the moment that made me reflect upon what I think about Americans and the impact that Trump is having upon those who live in the country. It made me think of the Germans who lived during the Nazi period and the impact it had on them.

She didn't want them to suffer for their stupidity, I told them that I did because it reminded me of the of the lies told about #Brexit that were easily disproved just like the #lies that Trump told to be re-elected. She didn't want us thinking that all Americans were like Trump, I told her that being from NI, I understood because once upon a time that if you came from NI,

Also why is Burnham seen as the great new hope? The party already had a chance to elect him leader and they didn't take it. So maybe he isn't a good as everyone calling for him to replace Starmer thinks he is.

Maybe it's about what the party stands for not the personalities that lead it!

Another small thought to Labour...You're not Reform!

BBC NI has won the prize stating the bloody obvious!

Of course it is #dysfunctional - mandatory coalition between Sinn Féin and the DUP does not work!

Us Northern Ireland folk have to stop voting for these two parties if they won't Reform #Stormont and let us have grown-up government here. The DUP have never come to terms with losing top spot.

A small thought from me - this #Labour government have been extremely disappointing.

However, on this current illegal war that Trump has started, the fact that #Starmer is getting attacked by the orange overbaked wotsit, then I would take it as a badge of pride.

#Trump said we aren't dealing with #Churchill here, no we aren't. But then again, the RoW isn't even dealing with George W Bush when dealing with this current US President. We have Benny's poodle in the White House. 🐩

@realtegan@wandering.shop It wasn't last night that America stopped being a serious country. It was when you elected a lunatic for the second time knowing what he was like. America will never have the world standing ever again to tell any other country what they can and can't do. America's vote for Trump not only endangered your country but it endangered the world. That will never be forgiven!

Maidin mhaith...a quick hello and thought before I toddle off to do some work.

Can we all now agree that Trump is mad and has absolutely no clue how to end this war with Iran. He desperately needs someone to give him a way out because US petrol prices are starting to affect his approval ratings.

I unfortunately watched the first 15 mins of #SNLUK. It wasn't funny, the opening attacking Starmer was pitiful. There is a sketch were you can mock him for Trump but that wasn't it!

Listening to #Kemi Badenoch moan and whine about the Green Party victory last night shows she is absolutely deluded.

She speaks as if she hadn't just overseen the #Tories worse by-election result in their history, only received 2% of the entire vote cast and to top it all they lost their deposit!

The woman really does have delusions of grandeur. 🤭🫣🤦🏼‍♀️

It didn't even raise a smile with me. I thought the whole thing was forced, why they had an American open the first UK show was a strange decision as well . I agree with you the whole thing was embarrassing. I can't imagine it will do that well in the UK - America humour doesn't travel.

It was life changing for us in Northern Ireland but also for families like yours. I should say thank you to your Dad and the others who believed that Northern Ireland had changed enough after 1998 for him to come back home and build a life here.

@astronomerritt@hachyderm.io I still remember waiting for the result of the vote on the Good Friday Agreement in 1998. The nerves were absolutely horrendous but when it was announced that Northern Ireland had voted YES - the tears that I shed that night were relief, that it was over and Northern Ireland had a chance. It isn't perfect but my god it is so much better than it was. We aren't waking up to death and destruction every morning. NI now could do with some of that bravery that was shown in 1998.

@astronomerritt@hachyderm.io Your Dad coming back home after the 1998 vote, is what the vote in favour for the GFA meant, a new start and a better path forward. I was 22 when I voted for the Good Friday Agreement. I would do it again. I remember the atmosphere in NI after the Shankill Bombing and the deadly shooting at Greysteel, it felt that Northern Ireland was beyond saving. We were going to live with death and destruction forever but I think we looked over the edge and said it can't go.

If the Democrats aren't that vehicle, then find someone who is. Challenge Trump & his supporters - ask the simple question why do believe that? Can you give me examples of that? They can't!

@Strandjunker@mstdn.social The question is why did so many Americans actually vote for him a second time around knowing full well what he is like? Either they like what he offers or they don't care. America walked into this with their eyes opened, more Americans voted for him and they elected him. Why? Learn from Brexit in Britain, stop naval gazing into what went wrong, start addressing the problems that made people vote for men like Trump & Farage and the hate they peddle.
