Human being, being human. Trying, not always successfully, to leave the world a slightly better place than I found it. It's a modest goal, I know.
Anti fascist. If you’re not, what are you?
Profile header is a slice of a pencil sketch drawn by my brother, an architect. The crop focuses on my eyes, and the craggy lines radiating from their corners. My eyebrows appear to have gone feral.
Profile image is me as an almost 40 years younger man. I have dyed black crimped hair in a broad mohawk.
I have bought a couple of Tisha’s works.
They are tiny but immensely powerful seascapes. I stare deeply into them every day. They draw you in like a gyre.
And they are very affordable.
If you’re planning a gift for someone, get them something unique and beautiful.
Today, I saw 3 dolphins in the Firth of Clyde.
Just offshore from Largs.
Made my day. At a very difficult time.

Wow. Who’d have imagined an #AI company would behave so unethically 🤔
RE: @nateb@mastodon.thenewoil.org
#AI company says AI is the future of war/peace/energy/anything else you care to mention in a thinly-veiled PR blog post
It's all #bullshit and always has been.
The real question is: who will hold these companies to account for the harms they do?
This is the kind of application that machine learning is actually very useful for.
Big tech just buys it up and shuts it down. Because “AI”.
I hope you included the cat shit.

The population of the USA is roughly 2.5% of the global population.
Your congress's laws mean fuck all to 97.5% of the people on the planet.
And apparently more or less the same in your failed state.
RE: @arstechnica@mastodon.social
No it won’t.
This is imaginary money being hyperlooped around 5 or 6 giant corporations to make them appear solvent.
They are all already bankrupt.
They just don’t know it yet.
