@BroDrillard Looks just about right. No further evidence that present day south africa required.

@ChrisMayLA6@zirk.us Wow... impressive integrity! I wish more swedish people were like that when it comes to being forced to work with unethical companies products.

@troed Missed that completely. Is there some kind of Butlerian jihad going on here?
The only thing I remember that was fun, was some guy who was angry with vim because they accepted non-human (but human approved, I assume) code into the code base, and wanted to fork vim due to that reason.
It was really very silly.

@peritia@alovely.space Not much of a blog reader I'm afraid. My main hobby reading is here and mailinglists. But in terms of tech writers, some good ones are https://www.schneier.com/ and https://www.troyhunt.com

Yes... this is a bug of the western representative democratic system and the EU project. It strives for extreme centralization, and as long as this continues unchecked, chat control and the domination of the individual will continue.
Only extreme decentralization of power will be able to once and for all stop these kind of perversions.
I think we'll probably need a world war or so, to clean out the latent aggression and authoritarianism that has taken root in the minds of our politicians since corona.

@jon@social.vivaldi.net Hello Vivaldi, can you drop the chrome engine and use the Ladybird (https://ladybird.org/) one? I think that would be great to reduce the power and influence of google over the internet!

@jon@social.vivaldi.net Has Vivaldi appointed an ambassador to the Ladybird project yet?
I figure that having Vivaldi cooperating with the Ladybird guys now, it could massively accelerate the time to Ladybird becoming the new Firefox, and at the same time, Vivaldi probably already supports "plugging in" the Ladybird browser engine behind the scenes, which means that Vivaldi would then ride on the success of Ladybird as well.
The more I think about it, the more I love the idea of a Vivaldi and Ladybird partnership!

@troed @voipmeister This is the way!
I use LLM:s for small scripts, web site parsing, etc. I know what the code does, I might tweak a few things, and see no problem with that. It saves me about 30-60 minutes per job.

@voipmeister@social.datarek.nl @troed@swecyb.com That's why I said "human approved". I am not in favour of vibe coding stuff without any clue about how your application works or what the code does.
But if you generate code with an LLM, understand it, per haps tweak it, I find it silly to reject the code just because an LLM wrote 90% of it.

@cstross@wandering.shop Just ask again at the top of the next boom and you'll the the position reversed.
It's the same with sweden and the euro. The euro fanatics love to say the same thing at the bottom of every recession, and they then disappear at the top of the next boom, because then the SEK is Trump again.
