Support for Israel in the United States seems to be waning, so I would like to remind those who don't know: it is not antisemitic to be anti-Israel. That is called anti-Zionism. The two are distinct. You can be an anti-Zionist, but still support Jewish people. Zionism is just a form of government. @Tutanota@mastodon.social The only Microslop product I am currently stuck with is GitHub, and transitioning is really difficult, even though it has gone completely downhill. ForgeFed looks really promising, but it doesn't seem mature enough yet, and Codeberg has some limitations that I don't like. I am currently also working on getting rid of Android before 2027, January 1st, but I can't fully get rid of YouTube, as it is too much of a content silo. Sure, PeerTube exists, but there aren't enough videos on it yet to replace YouTube, unfortunately. I have been gradually replacing it with the Internet Archive, but it isn't as effective. Also, as many pointed out, the logos are really hard to tell in this picture, as the trend is for everything to look almost identical to its competitor, and without context, or some text, I can't tell what 4, 5, and 6 are on the last row (I assume 2 and 3 are Tuta software) sadly, I know what every other logo is for, even without text.

Fun fact about neurodiverse people Some people with Autism are wired differently, to the point where their energy is not boosted by drinking caffeine. For example, when I used to drink caffeine, I would find it doesn't give me energy, it just makes me really groggy, slow, and stressed. Drinking it right before bed (one time) also didn't do anything, I was trying to keep myself awake, but in the end, I fell asleep within 15 minutes. That is why I now just try to avoid it entirely. #Neurodiversity #Autism #Caffeine

ICE misidentified and murdered Lorenzo Salgado Araujo on 2026, July 7th, because they are racist. Their mindset was that every person of color looks exactly the same. Your browser is not only closed source software, but it is based on Chromium, meaning you are just another Google browser, like Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, etc. I am unhappy with Firefox at the moment, but I will keep using it, as I refuse to support Google.

I am having severe technical issues today. I was going to restart my media player laptop, as the SWAP file was filling up, and had to cancel my backup, due to this memory issue, but upon restarting, the system began to fail severely. It was working perfectly fine prior to restarting, but now gnome-shell appears to be corrupt. CPU usage is constantly between 28% and 64% for this one process (across 20 CPU cores) all transition fade effects (such as when searching for a file, opening a dialog box, or taking a screenshot) are not showing, and there is considerable lag at all times, with the cursor being burnt into the screen at random places. The CPU is constantly spiking. Tracker-miner-fs was uninstalled years ago. Over time, I noticed more and more issues. I have restarted 6 times, but have not had any relief, I even ran the battery completely dead, and held the power button down for 30 seconds. Several terminal commands, such as systemtcl did nothing, the system is unable to connect to the Internet or bluetooth (it is acting like the network adapter is fried, it asks me to plug in a dongle, but it won't recognize my Wi-Fi dongle, nor will it accept Ethernet) I have even tried directly pinging my router, it cannot even do that. I suspect that the ports are blocked, but it seems more complex than that, as airplane mode doesn't show up as an option, it won't accept my Aux port headphones, and I can't change the brightness. When clicking on the battery in the top right corner, there are only 5 options: audio (which doesn't work) battery, settings, lock, and power off/log out. The Wi-Fi, brightness, and Bluetooth options are missing. The speakers aren't working, they just call themselves by the device name "dummy" and audio won't play, however video works fine (although CPU usage for video playback is much higher than normal) screensavers also now cause the CPU to reach a constant 90% usage rate, then immediately drop to a constant 16-20% upon turning the screensaver off. Thankfully, I can still connect USB drives to my system, and copy files to/from this drive. I also tried going to the BIOs and booting from a different kernel, but the option doesn't show up, as this is the only Linux kernel version installed. I would like to get this fixed, as I can't access the majority of my music and sound effects now, and I now no longer have a backup device to go to when I repair my current system. I really wish I just didn't restart today. Help online hasn't worked so far, articles are too lengthy, and don't get to the point. It would be easier to reinstall gnome-shell if I had an Internet connection, but it looks like I am going to have to do this manually. Any help would be appreciated. I have system logs (generated from the System76 driver tool, which unfortunately doesn't give me the option to repair drivers) but I am unsure how to safely share these, as I don't know what parts are needed, or if it contains anything confidential. #Help #TechSupport #Ubuntu22 #Linux #GNOME #GNOME-Shell #Corruption #Ubuntu #Networking #Repair

PSA: It is extremely important that voters in the United States make a huge turnout this November. Even if the "Save" America voter suppression act is to pass, that doesn't mean that everyone is prevented from voting. I am hoping that if it were to pass, this would skyrocket voter turnout more than it already is going to be, people need to realize the importance of this. You will lose far more by doing nothing than if you vote in this election. Take an inconvenience now, or there will be great suffering later. Everything is at stake, many people (including yourself, your friends, and your family) may lose their entire livelihood. We must vote every last fascist out. Hopefully we can reach a 2/3 majority, and do what Hungary did, and just vote the president out of office. Trump is becoming increasingly unpopular, even among his most diehard supporters. He knows that he will not survive if Democrats win in 2026. That is why he is trying everything he can to suppress the vote, and turn the United States into a full-on totalitarian dictatorship, similar to that of the 🇷🇺 Russian Federation, 🇰🇵 Occupied Korea, or 🇨🇳 Occupied China. Surprisingly, with how bad it is right now, the country hasn't even reached that point yet. It will only get worse if he gets his way. He is going to try everything to destabilize and seize control. Sacrifices are going to have to be made to stop him. Without these sacrifices, you will be sacrificing your life shortly after anyways in a much worse way. There is little reason NOT to try. Yes, there are problems with the Democratic party, but the alternative is much, much worse. It is also highly unlikely that a third party will become prominent enough between now and November. I realize I didn't do enough activism in 2024, and I am still ashamed of that. Please share this information, so that this country can start to reverse the damage, and stop hurting the world as much. We need to truly turn the page on Trump. Getting rid of his enablers is our best tool now. He might still be in power, but we can limit his power, and eventually remove it. Also, to state the obvious: voter fraud is extremely low, less than 0.01% of votes are illegitimate (less than 100 instances throughout the entire nations population of over 341,000,000) and it is already illegal for non-citizens to vote. This bill is merely a method of being able to take over the election, declare himself the winner, and continue to terrorize and destroy. He is still so sore about his loss in 2020, as it is the first time he didn't get his way in a massive way. He is such a spoiled brat, that he still hasn't dropped it 6 years later. He is still criticizing Hillary Clinton at times, even though that was 10 years ago. Let's make him lose again, and never let him have a massive win again. This is not a red vs blue issue. This is an active attempt at the complete destruction of a Democracy. This is a constitutional crisis. We must act now. So I replied to someone recently, and got this notification the next day Apparently, BlueSky users can't see or interact with Mastodon users. It really isn't federated then, is it? I am not going to be creating a BlueSky account to get them to see my reply. In case my reply wasn't visible on Mastodon either, here it is (it was in reply to someone pointing out Russian misinformation, originally posted 2026, July 8th at 7:04 pm PST): I noticed yesterday that the 8 posts you have listed also are suspiciously close to 120,000 likes each, likely meaning 120,000 of those likes are from bots, and the remainder are from people who fell for the bait. I now see that some also come suspiciously close to 119,000. How does one not notice that many bots in the first place? Elon is completely incompetent.

I am not getting very good results online, so I am asking here. Is it possible to apply bold/italic to only the combining character of a letter (such as the ̈ within ö)
The character did not render correctly in my post (after pasting, the mark applied to the e, it didn't while I was drafting this) I am referring to the combining character in the included image, or U+0308 (Combining Diæresis)

I am getting close to the 6 month point in my new diet, things have been interesting.
I went Vegetarian for a 3rd time on 2026, November 26th, but upgraded to Veganism on 2026, February 23rd. I intend to stay this way for the rest of my life.
The part that makes this diet more difficult is my sanctions system.
Type H sanctions - Limits/disallows foods that are unhealthy, or non-vegan
Type R sanctions - Prevents the consumption of foods produced by a company that is doing business in either Russia, Belarus, or North Korea (my effective boycott of Russia for its genocidal war against Ukraine)

I am pretty late on posting this, Holocaust remembrance day was 2026, January 27th (97 days ago) I didn't have this ability until recently (the ability to obtain almost any font and use it)
This is the famous "first they came" poem (the version used by the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, not the original) but in the font from the movie Schindlers List (SchindlersFont.ttf)
This quote doesn't apply just to the Holocaust, it can apply really well to any genocide, and most incidents of mass persecution.

I am back after a sudden, unannounced 4 day break. I have been having a hard time lately, and I am struggling to find footing. Productivity has been at an all-time low lately (since the start of the new cycle in 2020) I took time off to try and find some balance in my life and schedule, but was unable to find an effective balance. I have been too isolated from the world, and needed to get caught back up here.

I recently came across this Futurama movie poster (it definitely seems "AI" generated) I didn't believe it was real, but found it comedic. Upon further inspection, a few things led me to fully confirm it is fake:

- There is little evidence of a new Futurama movie, all of it is just rumors
- Note the misspelling of the URL (futurmathemovie.com instead of futuramathemovie.com) Fox wouldn't be incompetent enough to miss the first a in Futurama, and you know they could buy the domain if they really wanted it.
- Does this really seem like an official movie poster to you? It screams parody/joke

I am very late on this (this seems to be from 2025, and ultimately, no movie came out in 2025, as the trailer suggested)
