@Tutanota@mastodon.social That’s great, but I don’t think you can really compare them like that. TutaMail and TutaCalendar are, after all, just a fraction of the others being compared. What’s more, they’re very limited in terms of features. Is this already greenwashing? But that doesn’t change the fact that you should steer clear of the cloud giants being compared. #degoogle #demicrosoft

@kuketzblog@social.tchncs.de Die einzige gute Alternative ist für mich Mapy. Das Routing bei den Alternativen ist immer ein großes Problem. Gerade mit dem ÖPNV. Maps macht das echt gut. Aber halt kein Open Source und mit Werbung. Dafür EU.

Dann schrecken sie vor den Kosten zurück, die es dann häufig gibt. Der ganze Aufwand, und dann kommt: "Eigentlich hab ich ja nichts zu verbergen ..."

But I’m glad there are alternatives, even if it will be some time before they can stand up to the big players.

@kuketzblog@social.tchncs.de Man kann an den #Microsoft Produkten wie #Windows11 sehen, dass KI zwar programmieren, aber keinen Programmierer ersetzen kann. Wenn das nicht endet, werden dunkle Wolken am IT Markt aufziehen. Nicht mal für Supportfragen taugt eine KI vollständig.

Es ist schon ein Graus wenn man versucht die Big Player wie #Google oder #Microsoft zu verlassen.

@protonprivacy@mastodon.social sieht toll aus und bietet auch eine Menge Features, ist aber dermaßen buggy. Vorallem #ProtonDrive Außerdem haben sie eine furchtbare Kundenkommunikation.

@tuta@mastodon.social ist supertoll verschlüsselt, die Nutzung der Produkte versetzt einen aber zurück in die 00er Jahre.

Es ist noch ein langer Weg.

They need to be trained and kept informed on a regular basis. You're only allowed to drive a car if you've learned how to do it. If you drive into a wall, you can only blame the car if there's a mechanical fault.

From now on, I am condemning the manufacturer of my kitchen knives because there is no warning or safety measure included directly on the knife if I cut myself with it. Warum wird bei nahezu jedem Start des @Tutanota@mastodon.social Kalenders alles komplett neu geladen? Ein leerer Kalender der sich dann langsam füllt.

Und warum kann ich offline ohne Netz keine neuen Termine eintragen oder ändern? Ich dachte das in einem Vergleich zu anderen Anbietern als Kriterium gesehen zu haben. 🤔
