@c64whiz@oldbytes.space yes. BBC news run a headlines ‘show’ on each hour, and have a VT that fills time, counting down to it. It shows journos shuffling paper, doing OBs, views of 10 downing street and other newsy stuff. Been around for almost 20 years and is quite well known here.

This is interesting https://hackaday.social/@hackaday/116846518114699492 TLDR; positional tracking without #GPS from ground-based stations. Nothing new of course. I do wonder why there must be a 'cloud' component to this... Why can't the ground stations transmit a TOTP derived code. Each user of the system could know the TOTP seed for the ground stations they wish to triangulate from. All necessary processing done on client, no need for sending anything to the cloud. I'm probably way out of my depth, but this is what I'd of started with.

Since the last Roku (STB) update, the volume down on my (ancient LG) TV occasionally pauses the playback of things. I like IR, but this is inconvenient.

@juanfr@mastodon.social I've always struggled to get the input mappings right on mine. Tend to goto my 3DS for speccy. Maybe I've missed something but retroarch fuse core is cumbersome.

@juanfr@mastodon.social I loved flashback, looks like it will be more than a 128k can handle in a single load! Thanks for sharing.

I once wrote a BASIC interpreter in ZX Spectrum BASIC. Why? I wanted to know how. It was dumb but I was 12. I learnt a lot. Like that I needed to learn asm, or move onto C. Wrt https://lobste.rs/s/vqjc0e
