Dog Dad- you’ll see Dexter featured on my posts a fair bit. Also best mates with @benandjerry@gamerstavern.online who follow me around at home doing day to day stuff!
About me: Interests in healthcare (obvs), tech, gaming and climate change. I have a dark sense of humour and don’t take myself too seriously. I have a real love and passion for rallying- and I often post & stream rallying videos on my Peertube channel below.
My 2 year old, now fully adjusted to our newly named Robot Hoover, just came running out of her bedroom shouting:
“Oh no! Daddy!!!! Hugh Vacman stuck in the cupboard!!!!”
My work here is done.
When the drink says ”Natural colourings!”, but it looks like this
What the fuck natural colourings did you use? Smurfs???
Long ol' post about sim racing and rally, soz:
So, I indulged in a spot of rally last night, having not done any in a long while. I started in Assetto Corsa Rally, and then moved over to EA WRC. I can't believe how much I was baffled by how janky the physics in EA WRC felt. I guess I've just been playing it for so long that I got used what the physics in EA WRC did and how to work around them. Safe to say, ACR is lightyears ahead in terms of car handling. Whilst it isn't perfect by any means and still has a lot of work to do (it is still early access I guess), they are very much on the realistic end and you feel as though you can actually tell what the car is going to do/trying to do.
So this got me thinking, I installed the OG: Richard Burns Rally. I was absolutely blown away by the car physics and how the force feedback feels in that game. I really need to do a video about it.
If you're into rally games or sim racing, you really, really need to install this game and try it. After all, it is completely free.
Things you don't want to hear in the back of the car from your 2yr old.
"Mmhmmm. That's a GREAT big bogey"
"Uh...what did you do with it...?"
"Don't worry, it's all gone now!"
Actually, I don't want to know. I'm more sane not knowing.
Cant find the peg for keeping the coffee bag sealed? Don't worry- that pair of arterial forceps that you've always got lying around will do the job just fine
Sooooo I hear EA fired a ton of staff across the board, including a bunch from the Battlefield 6 team even after an incredibly successful launch.
Hardly surprising, but it just seems so abusive. Use all these incredible staff’s talents to get a great product, then boot them out as soon the rewards of said product start coming in. I believe Bungie did a similar thing with their developers in Destiny 2?
Its hard to know which way to turn as a consumer. Do we not support EA for their shitty practices and stand in solidarity with the devs? Do we enjoy and appreciate the game so as to recognise the dev’s had work and give them credit?
le sigh
My graphics card isn’t capable of running the game anyway so I can’t make a decision regardless, but still.
Found an old clip of me playing the drums 🤣 damn I really miss playing. This was a time when I was a little rusty and decided to hastily set up the kit while I had some free time, hence the speakers cutting out the last few seconds haha...
The other night, I drove the Lancia Stratos in Assetto Corsa Rally. I've previously never been all that interested in it. Not for any reason, it just sat on the back benches waiting it's turn.
Hell, I was not disappointed. The car tries to kill you when you're not looking. Turn a corner too hard? It'll kill you. Put your foot down too much? It'll kill you. Try to slow down too much? You guessed it. It's like an angry wolf on a lead- you've got to keep it in check, else it'll eat you for dinner. Dare I say it... I actually drove it pretty well?
A singing Ferrari engine in this era of body with pop up headlights? I'm sold. I love it. More to follow, maybe a video.
Re my last boost, highly recommend following TransportEvolved. Great channel, I watch their videos all the time.
