I'm concerned about what the proliferation of #LLM agents is doing to communal knowledge, and my mind keeps drawing parallels between what we see happening here and disasters that farming malpractices caused in the early to mid 20th century.

In a way, we are repeating the same errors, just with a different medium. Warnings from experts are being ignored, recommended practices are being skipped in favour of expediency and short-term gain.

Are we witnessing the making of the first digital Dust Bowl?

I find myself at a point where I'm encountering irreconcilable differences between my moral, ethical, and technical objections to the use of LLMs, and my employer's leadership's desire to force the use of LLMs into every aspect of day to day operations. As a result, I find myself #OpenToWork .

I have decades of experience in the #SysAdmin / #SRE / #DevOps / #CICD / #CloudComputing range of skills. Currently acting as a subject matter expert on #Kubernetes , #Terraform , and #Observability . Mostly supporting #GCP platforms these days, but I am comfortable pivoting to other #cloud platforms like #AWS or even #OnPrem . Can do #ProjectManagement and #TeamLeadership. Experienced in #DevSecOps and #FedRAMP processes.

I would strongly prefer to deal with no LLM tooling at all, but will settle for having to use it less than in the current environment.

@grilix this https://digitalinnovations.com/products/skipdr-manual-cd-dvd-disc-repair-system . As long as the information layer is not damaged, scratches on the surface are "only" a problem because they scatter the light used to read the data. Polishing the disk does two things:

• It fills the scratch, ideally with a medium with similar refractive properties as the plastic
• By abrading the top layer, it makes the scratches comparatively less deep

Again, these methods were designed for CDs/DVDs. BluRay has a higher information density and AFAIK also different reflective properties, so I don't know if it'll work in this case.
