@nixCraft@mastodon.social Exactly! I buy $50 Motorola Androids and run them for 5 or 6 years, or until I run over them with my wheelchair, then buy another $50 Motorola!
Rose can do a 1, 2 or 3 legged dangle off the deck, but I've never seen her do 4!

Brushing Violet and scratching Rose all at the same time brought all of us joy tonight.

Rose enjoyed having her flanks brushed tonight. Goats are very itchy creatures!

@sundogplanets@mastodon.social That's the one thing I really miss about my home state of Alaska, the night sky was just incredible! We're rural here in Florida, but there is still so much light pollution that pulling out my telescope just isn't the same anymore.

Violet assumes the position for her head brushing tonight. I'm glad she waiting for me this time as I really enjoy brushing her!

Spent the entire day moving and assembling furniture in my mother in law's new nursing home room. It's come out beautifully and I'll post a photo or two at the end of the week. #family
Came home to Violet, who was very hungry for all the attention I could muster!

☀️Good morning everyone and goats, happy Monday!
Tornado warning for us at the moment, very high winds, heavy rain, and the power keeps going off!
Edit: OK The warning has expired now, but mercy was it windy for about 30 minutes. The tornado passed by on our west side thankfully! Our front and back pastures are completely underwater. We REALLY needed this rain so no complaints.
The Open Championship is on the telly for the next 10 hours or so, so of course nothing will get done on the farm until it's over! #golf ⛳️
As I brush Violet standing on her deck, Rose is brushing her face in the background using the post mounted brush!

Our first actual storm in at least 4 months is on the way. Expecting perhaps 2cm of rain, which we can really use badly!

@doctorwhom@mastodon.social You need multiple goats as they are herd animals. No you can not keep them inside as they can't be littler box trained. You'll want at least a acre per goat of room to raise healthy animals. Goats are not easy to keep healthy, require monthly immunizations and hoof trims etc.

@distrowatch@mastodon.social That's just regular farming here in the rural south. I mean, I'm an engineer but oddly also, a luddiite!

@distrowatch@mastodon.social What AI has always been to me is grabbing a straw of seaman from the deep freeze and inserting it into the uterus of a cow or horse to get it pregnant. THAT is useful AI.

@doctorwhom@mastodon.social Well aware of that, indeed I was programming in COBOL and FORTRAN machines to do that data sifting way back in the 70's. I just like making fun of the way it's done now days since I'm retired from engineering and working as a simple farmer.
