Bosque Bill
Retired electronics engineer, New Mexico USA. I love biking, boondocking, baseball, and Beethoven. Amateur landscape/wildlife photographer. He/him.
I mostly post my photos of nature & landscapes.
If you are interested in more photos, see links below.
I delete my non-media posts after about 1 day.

I'd already driven part way down when I leaned out my window to take this photo. Valley of the Gods is just out of frame to the left. You can just see the edge of Monument Valley through the haze on the horizon to the right.
There is so much hype and influencer scare mongering about this relatively easy and fairly wide gravel road. Yes, it clings to the cliff, and yes it's a long way down, but I've seen full sized RVs pulling trailers make it up with no problems.
Mexican Hat Rock & San Juan River
Mexican Hat, UT
From an angle not seen by most as you have to climb (on foot or 4x4) up the far side of the adjoining hill; there is also a rough road that leads down to the river, but it so clogged by salt cedar you can't see the water.
Variegated Meadowhawk
Albuquerque, NM
Last week riding on the levee trail an orangish dragonfly quickly crossed my path. The shape matches this species and based on historical record this species may be active in NM this early in the season. So this is my educated guess.

Are human feet required for #FootpathFriday ? I'm guessing this "game trail" is likely caused by elk as I saw a small herd in the area.

East of Muley Point looking south toward the Monument Valley area. In case you are unfamiliar, those two light stripes are a double-track road—light due to wheels crushing the small rocks into dust.

"First Light" 😎
Got my smart telescope yesterday just in time for a week of clouds. But caught a bit of a break this morning.
Hardly know what I'm doing even after reading the manual and watching videos. This is downloaded from the scope to my phone, uploaded onto my desktop and cropped in Affinity with only a little bit of brightness and contrast.
First thing I learned is I need a chair or stool to sit on while I ponder the UI 😆

Sort of a twist on #WildlifeWednesday if you will allow it.
Not unusual to hear these tricksters engaging in song down in the bosque and on occasion they will sing a chorus or two in the yard. Last night they decided to stage an entire opera outside my bedroom at 2:30am.
I finally had to get up to turn on the floodlights, which usually does the trick, but last night I had to pound on the glass to move the three of them along. Sigh.
Never did get back to sleep. I'm looking forward to a nice nap this afternoon.
Hate it when I go to clean my glasses and they are clean. Stupid eyeballs!
At least the ground is perceptibly damp after yesterday's whopping 0.11" downpour here in the north valley. Here come da weeds.
And the word of the day is:
disingenuous /dĭs″ĭn-jĕn′yoo͞-əs/
I need a "Paste and Match Style" key.
Edit: OK I remapped Cntl-B, both because I don't recall ever using that combo and it's right next to Cntl-V (paste). 👍
Hope I remember it.
Ouch! OK, I think we can expect price rises for general goods of 5% and maybe even 10% in these times. But the whey protein powder I use every morning has gone up in one month from $20 to $30.
