@mancavgeek@social.teamb.space @mountainwitch@kolektiva.social I’m sure part of it is just people who think that, in the US, we live in a wonderful world without waiting times. In reality, I still have to wait weeks to see my PCP or months for a specialist AND I get to pay out the ass for it. We also get the greatness that individual doctors at a location can be in or out of network. Back in January I sliced my face pretty badly while shaving, so I went to the nearest in-network urgent care. Apparently the NP working that day was out-of-network so they still charged me $700.

@alexwild@mastodon.online I usually am not an ant fan but your posts make them look so cute

@matthew@social.retroedge.tech @SamuraiSakura@mastodon.bsd.cafe I used a PS/2 connector for my keyboard through like 2018 because, when I built that computer ca. 2013, N-key rollover over USB wasn’t really a thing yet, so my Das Keyboard came with an adapter and my motherboard still had a port for it.

@rk@mastodon.well.com @onan@dobbs.town FWIW, the real reason that September-December have prefixes that are off by two is because the original Roman calendar had 10 months starting in March and winter was just some other days between December and the new year in March.

@mr_daemon@untrusted.website very cool! Alas, my network is mostly Gentoo, but cool nonetheless :)

@arstechnica@mastodon.social trump really is setting the US back decades

Sounds the same as Anthropic’s CEO saying “if you ignore the cost of training the models, we’re making a profit”

I’m assuming because this is for when someone is in an ambulance being driven to the hospital, so time is of the essence. I’m guessing that for just sharing data what you said works fine. CC: @briankrebs@infosec.exchange

You have cpb instead of cbp :P

Watching hockey will give me a heart attack #DallasStars

Old ‘80s and ‘90s WRC cars looked so good. I wish we still got homologation specials (though I’ll take my GR Corolla in the meantime).

oops :P

Glad I just passed one of these about 2 minutes ago

About to crash out over this Toyota issue 😭😭😭😭 #LoneStarLeMans thought I'd finally see a Toyota win here

Also lol, it’s kind of funny that you wrote “ECG” despite being German and then Krebs wrote “EKG” despite not ;) CC: @briankrebs@infosec.exchange

Blegh

@evacide@hachyderm.io hitting the “Take Action” button at the bottom of the page 404s (the one at the top works)

@nguarracino@techhub.social @Heidiknits@mastodon.social oh hey, this article’s by the guy who wrote about kind of the same thing h happening to youth hockey in Dallas last year https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/investigations/2025/08/01/nhl-dallas-stars-texas-youth-hockey-monopoly/84289184007/

I want to spend my salary on Cars & Bids even if Doug Demuro has become wildly out of touch

@mjd@mathstodon.xyz @pozorvlak@mathstodon.xyz I mean, it’s terrible for the environment, has loads of ethical and moral concerns, and the companies are completely unsustainable. It’s pretty easy to hate

I got my Framework laptop with the clear keycaps and I could type fine but then remembering what the function keys did was such a pain in the ass.

Learned about Uruky last week and I’ve been trying it out. Seems like a bit worse than Kagi but it’s nice not having LLMs in it and being European-based. #SearchEngines #Privacy #Kagi #Uruky

@rk@well.com very much relatable. Why do I not leave

@andrewrk@mastodon.social what about by foot?
