Updated guidance from the IRS for tax year 2026. As of April 22nd 2026 the FDA has redesignated cannabis a schedule 2 drug.
This means your medical cannabis expenses are now tax deductible like any other medical expenses on your Schedule A itemized deductions for TY26 filing (April 2027)
This currently only applies to expenses incurred as a medical marijuana card holder at licensed dispensaries.
Keep receipts or records to claim the deductions

If you work somewhere that is pushing for utilisation, just learn enough AI buzz words to make them think you're using it.
