@Nonya_Bidniss@infosec.exchange Many are too young to remember, but... There was a time when writing was done with a pen or pencil. Not voice. Not a keyboard. Something happened later. There was a time when math was taught working with pencil and paper. Not a calculator. Not a computer. Something happened later. Is history repeating itself? Surely not.

@sunumbral@beige.party As a kid we used to vacation in SD, WY, CO, UT, NM, and AZ during the summer. I remember Utah was exceptionally hot, dry, sparse vegetation, and beautiful.

@seatek@hard.blue I regret to say it, but it looks better than my garage and two of my bedrooms. The quantity seems to double in volume every few years. Regrettably, it never doubles in quality :/

@lynnesbian Why not have a place to post "I didn't unblock ads - I left instead. I won't be back." or "I didn't click on the Scan to Verify You're Human QR code - I left instead. I won't be back." When enough potential customers leave and don't return the vendor might take notice.

@troy_frizzell @lynnesbian Your call is important to us...

@jeffowski PE teachers were scraped from the bottom of the teacher barrel in my school district. They wanted everyone to be bullies, abusive, cheats, and all the other bad qualities that the PE teacher had. Those qualities may work for a while, but in the end they tear down those who use them.

@mike@cyberczar.org @seatek@hard.blue In Seattle light rail and bus lines are based on ridership (which boils down to commuter demand - routes and times). Others are not accommodated unless they happen to live within walking distance of public transit that runs that time of day. Often a trip that take 30 min by car takes 1 or 2 hours by public transit (assuming the start and end points are accessible by public transit.

@sunumbral@beige.party Decadent and oh so tasty :)

@seatek@hard.blue When I lived in the UK I would walk to the shops on the high street. It was maybe a quarter mile one way. It was safe day or night. At night only the pubs and Chinese take-away were open. Here however, it's a mile or more depending on what's required and the walk is risky. Some areas have sidewalks, some don't. Driver's only notice pedestrians if they hit them.

@seatek@hard.blue I know nothing of the background, but my impression of the photo is pie and Ice Cream along with other good things :) IMHO ya can't go wrong when it's inspiring and moves you in a positive direction.

@felipeB @lynnesbian Too many will blindly use the QR code.

@joyce Never forget. Tell your family members that weren't yet born at the time what happened.

@kyle@mastodon.kylerank.in That KB wouldn't work for a touch typist, but back then touch typing wasn't a thing. Neither was the ASDF KB. Bennett typewriters were way ahead of the curve.

@kyle@mastodon.kylerank.in Easy repairs. Very few moving parts. I don't understand why Bennett typewriters didn't catch on. The Selectric is what most people think about when anyone mentions "typewriters." Bennett was decades ahead of IBM.

@kyle Wow! Bennett Typewriters had this one down pat long before the Selectric was built and it's manual! That's quite a find Kyle! :)

@mattkenworthy That's one of the best solutions. Soon as a PM gets wind of you being close to done they start breathing down your neck and that will set the project back a bit.

@geerlingguy@mastodon.social Food grad filament is available https://help.prusa3d.com/filament-material-guide

@kyle That's a strange one! Very cool! Is there a carriage return lever? A very interesting keyboard.

@kenSwinson@indieweb.social Well done dude! There is a very real market for hand made tiles! Fine your demographic and let them know what you can do. Including hand made tiles with mass produced tiles improve the looks of the project 10 fold!

@kenSwinson@indieweb.social You're talented :) Charge accordingly. Are those custom tile prints hanging/drying in the background of your profile pic?

@kyle@mastodon.kylerank.in Check with https://typespec.com/ Paul has quite a selection. Keep the spools - those are hard to replace.

@404mediaco@mastodon.social This can't be good.

@benroyce@mastodon.social It seems that the left is looking for a life partner when selecting a politician. The two are very different. A politician fills a role, they aren't perfect, they hopefully are honest enough to try to stick to their promised agenda. Some do. Some don't. Some don't even try. If nothing less than perfection is worthy considered taking a look in a mirror.

@geerlingguy@mastodon.social I'm in the market for a 3D printer. One brand I won't consider is Bambu Lab 3D printers. So, if/when I buy a 3D printer to make boxes, cups, and/or board game playing pieces I'll make them without asking for Bambu's or any other vendor's blessing thank you very much.

@nixCraft@mastodon.social Shocking! Absolutely shocking! ...and we had such high hopes for miracles out of the gate! Surely, if we double our bet our number will come up on the next spin of the wheel! Hand out more pink slips and lets make that happen.
