@bodhipaksa@mastodon.scot @mekkaokereke@hachyderm.io Also more than a little ironic, given how racists like to complain about DEI and people being hired only for their skin colour, that they've chosen him as a totem just for his skin colour and not looked into his personal beliefs or attitude at all.

@cstross@wandering.shop I didn't read it all, but isn't just what people have been saying for weeks/months? That the major players are just investing the same 'money' back into each other to keep the bubble afloat? Why has it taken the stock market this long to realise it if was so obvious?

@gbargoud@masto.nyc @jeffowski@mastodon.world That's missing the point though. Sure it would be great to eliminate or greatly reduce the need for cars, but that's a fairly massive undertaking. Whereas as it stands anyone who uses a car needs car insurance, the cost of which makes some private company and it's investors profit. If instead there was a single national car insurance provider than it could be cheaper and that money could go back into the government's coffers rather than the pockets of private industry.

@gbargoud@masto.nyc @jeffowski@mastodon.world Nationalising car insurance wouldn't cost anyone who doesn't use a car anything, in fact it would probably create extra income for the government which could be spent on improving services for everyone.

@graydon@canada.masto.host @cstross@wandering.shop Fair enough, I suppose that makes a kind of sense.

@NotTheLBCGuy@mstdn.social If you continue to prop up a two party system that leaves the country governed by the Tory party for at least half the time then really your party is a piece of shit. Regardless of whether Labour are actually doing any good or not (which they're not) they will inevitably be replaced by a Tory government at some point which will screw everything up even more.

@vfrmedia@social.tchncs.de Absolutely, not just insurance but in many other things as well. Most of the mail-order/online catalogue companies are just one or two companies trading under different names. Same with debt collectors.

@sinbad That's exactly what someone who had trapped a cat in the lid of a plastic box would say.

@runevision I've read the post now. Fantastic work. Probably the best, most realistic, looking terrain generation I've seen.

@h5e@tech.lgbt Absolutely, the amount of times I paste something into notepad and then copy it again to where I actually want it to go is ridiculous. I particularly like whatever the hell Gmail does with formatting that means you can never seem to paste into or out of it without completely messing up what you've typed.

@eniko@peoplemaking.games Depends what you count as chill I suppose, I found the old Tony Hawk games pretty chill. Or 1080 Snowboarding on N64.

@coldwarsteve@mastodon.scot Is there some significance to the tapir?

@Anzeliane Love tensegrity tables, even knowing why it works it never stops seeming like magic. The voice over reminds me of the eepy missile meme...

@LarsThiessen@mastodon.gamedev.place Looks really great, congrats!
