Portland area people! The big juggling show that is part of the 34th Portland Juggling Festival is Saturday, 9/26/26, at 7PM at Kaul Auditorium at Reed College. It's an amazing show with national talent featuring the special guests of the Portland Juggling Festival. It's like no other show in town!
(I created the Portland Juggling Festival in 1992 with a lot of help from friends and it is still going strong!)

It's an good time to raise awareness of the racist origins of tipping in the US. I didn't know about this until a few years ago.
Following the emancipation of enslaved Blacks, there were many newly-freed people needing to earn a living. Restaurants hired Blacks but refused to pay them, or paid them little, forcing them into a subservient role of asking patrons for tips. Black Pullman porters spread the tipping practice across the US.

OTD, one hundred years ago, Miles Dewey Davis III, was born. The American trumpeter Miles Davis redefined jazz several times over.
At age 21 he was band leader and co-arranger, with Gil Evans and others, of the pivotal album Birth Of The Cool which collected up eleven 78 rpm singles from three recording sessions in 1957.
Two years later he recorded the best-selling masterpiece Kind Of Blue with a sextet including Cannonball Adderley, John Coltrane, and other greats.

@cy Veterinary clinics have had an extremely hard time retaining and recruiting staff since the emergence of COVID. Clients can be extremely rude and it's frequently a high stress environment u, and it's hard to thrive in a situation like that. We've seen multiple vet clinics close in the last five years. It's a bad situation.
