Just when you think the current sitting dipstick can't make himself look like a bigger idiot he goes and posts this waffle
Looks familiar to the uniforms of another load of fascists minus their logo.

So the scumbag who recorded the woman and would only remove the video as a paid service said he didn't do it to "cause stress or harm".
Well then the kicking I would give him wouldn't be done to bring him stress or harm either. Smart glasses are the worst thing to be invented

If the BBC were able to track him down, then so should the cops and drag him before the courts. The cheek of him to say he won't remove it as it was something he created as content, bullshit and I dare say he's done it repeatedly.

That genuinely worries me that there are no ways to counteract them, I have no need to use them but having two kids who aren't very street wise it frightens me that they can be recorded without their knowledge.

@dropbear@aus.social I felt genuine anger and shame for reading the article, the fact the man who recorded the video said he invested time and money into making the video is not an excuse.
The victim of the video did not ask to be plastered on the internet for all the world to see.
If some one recorded me or my wife and kids without my permission, the glasses wouldn't be long in getting smashed along with anything else the person has to store the videos on.

@Pinchy63@ottawa.place There is not one good reason to have them, Meta and anyone else involved in making them are complicit in what has happened and any future incidents too.

Institutions and the establishment are all part of the problem, they talk about wanting to protect women, yet don't actually do anything to back up their words.

If the glasses are helpful to your wife and others with visual impairments, then that is a great use of technology and in my own opinion is what the glasses should be used for.

The issue that most of us have, is when the Police use their discretion, and they should be making the life of the person who recorded the video a living hell.
Asking for money to remove the video is blackmail in every sense of the word.

I'm no fan of the Police but they can only work with the laws they are told to uphold, Politicians need to step up here and take action (in my opinion) but I have no faith in them to do it.
However if it was them getting recorded with these devices we wouldn't hear the end of it, so why should ordinary citizens accept these things as being part of every day society.

This happened not far from where I live, another case of violence against women taking the life of Amy who friends of mine knew her personally.
Some one needs to pay for this callous act and never see the outside of a prison wall again

I couldn't say it any better myself, that the perpetrator claims that he should gain financially for what he has done is disgusting, he should be made to pay money to the victim for the trauma he has caused.

You make some fair pointsall round there definitely needs to be some sort of regulation over these glasses and other tech products like them.

I would hazard to guess he has done this sort of thing repeatedly, makes us all wonder why he hasn't been brought before the courts yet.

If Meta and other makers of these glasses don't take steps to keep people safe, then they need to be held to account for anything these glasses are used for.

The difference is a bank etc lets people know they have security systems in place, the people wearing these glasses don't tell people they are recording them.

If they think it's acceptable to record some one on the sly, let's see what they say when it happens to them.
The coward refused to be interviewed by BBC tells me all I need to know.
