@ZenHeathen@beige.party @oldredsubby@sfba.social Maga would probably not realise it either. And when fuel prices and cost of living drop they will think Trump did it.

@liquidparanoia@aus.social @kevpeirce@aus.social Pretty sure I opened my first bank account there.

@Wen It is the English (particularly the home counties). just cut them off and the rest will get along fine, united, fairly. #ScottishIndependance

@Fxiz @passwordsarehard4 @brainwagon If a car suddenly veers right as intended by the manufacturer, you would hold them accountable. LLMs veer right 😁
Replying to
@passwordsarehard4 @brainwagon We are not talking about a car. A program that is designed to give answers in a certain way, designed to sway the conversation in whatever direction the company wants is very different. LLM models have been shown to give racist propaganda answers.

@rygorous As a scientist I must ask. Have you tested the hypothesis that moon rocks are not edible? Did you at least use the time honoured "lick it" approach?

@helenclayton or bury an unglazed ceramic pot next to them. easier to top up
Replying to
@brainwagon I think the narrative needs to shift. If you create the program that does bad things, you should be responsible.

We are back in the #Arctic doing some more #Microplastics #Research Working with #Unis and #BirminghamUniversity. #Svalvard #Longyearbuyen
Day 4 is it? #Dubai is still ok. We get to watch the daily fireworks from SAMs taking out missiles and drones. Hollywood lied about big fireballs when they blow up. Actualy just a puff of smoke and burning debris. indians managed to get on a plane last night. #FuckTrump

@augieray Open the air vent. Its filtered air. I mask for every flight.

@doc It depends which way round you wrap it. The right way releases instantly. Wrong way is "there be dragons". Naturally I teach crew to never do it.

@helenclayton I assume you fill them. Plug then let them dry? Dunno. it was to save plants in droughts. back before dripper hose. Which is a lot easier. put the tap on a timer.
Replying to
@helenclayton I heard of plugging beer bottles with clay in Australia back in the day.

@csalzman Awesome. I can tell you sailors want the same thing. reliable mechanical systems we can fix.

First flight up to the #Arctic for our #microplastics project did not go well. Stuck in Dubai from a missed connection. Will now go via frankfurt, oslo, longyearbuyen to get to #NyAlesund research station. #IHateFlying

@LabSpokane @kaidenshi I assume they lock down your computer. I get around that by asking IT to load atmospheric modeling software. its 4 programs that need to be loded correctly and settings changed between programs or it fails and you start again. Before I have finished describing how to do it they have given me the admin passwords.
Replying to
@Marcos @passwordsarehard4 @brainwagon Fair. but we were told processed food was good for us (part of a healthy breakfast) plastic was safe and recyclable. We got lied to and still are.

@kaidenshi Wait. People actualy use Edge?
