We have a similar problem in our village. People get dogs then leave them out for hours on end yapping.
It was far far worse when we went to visit near Market Drayton recently: someone was audibly neglecting and abusing a number of dogs there, had reportedly received warnings, but the racket still went on chronically.
How do we tackle this, people?

Thanks for your observations! Yes, timed vs untimed is fascinating. Had a good blitz rating once, and correspondence mode is very new to me although I heard about it decades ago. I think I need to deliberately play loads of random live games now and get beaten to a pulp humiliatingly, then just accept that I'm that kind of level. Still got to overcome reacting negatively to losing.

People who are not me have taken well over £100,000 from me over the last 40 years. Imagine what I could have done with that sort of money by now.
I fucking hate that it's my fault if I can't bear to prostitute myself long and hard enough to raise this sort of money any more, to appease those who own it all.

Us self employed in the UK are required to do our tax returns annually.
Every year I just wish tax would do itself. I'm sure it could be baked into the prices of things.
Still leaves the dismal spectre of watching your harvested coins be spent on all the wrong things which we weren't consulted on.
- I'm feeling better after a bout of flu.
- Got an interview today for an opportunity to do good things in the community.
- Started making music on an unfamiliar workstation, despite multiple functional setbacks and inconsistencies.

Maybe a supportive combination of medicinal mushrooms and mega vitamin therapy would be worth considering. (And I'm sure that alongside just medicinal interventions, you're doing your best to access all the laughter, sunshine, fresh air, company, relaxation, mindfulness, and all the joyful things in life).
