@guyjantic@infosec.exchange Search is one of the only fields that AI is actually decent at.

@gpunktschmitz@toot.cafe @brett@bitflipp.social Pi3 really can't keep up with modern Home Assistant. I've stopped updating mine while I wait for the pi5 I have on order (since January, thanks AI).

@deinol@dice.camp The Forerunner series by Norton. Man, I miss having those. I was going to go full ebook at one time. Now I'm rebuilding my physical book collection.

@guyjantic@infosec.exchange @b@mrrp.place Funny, I've always known Linus was like this. I thought it was common knowledge from the 90s.

@monkeyben @isocat @pluralistic it's even worse. If your payment method expires you aren't allowed to use the perfectly good ink already in the printer that you already paid for via the subscription service.

@deinol@dice.camp character sheets can tell you so much about a game.

@deinol@dice.camp @mwt@mastodon.nz I stopped watching (for a second time) when the idiot stood outside the North Korean Zone. I'm sorry, I don't need idiots like that in my Sci - fi. The first time I stopped watching was the SA scene. Don't want that either. I'll start watching it again at some point, but it already has two strikes.

@akamran@indieweb.social @darwinwoodka@mastodon.social @jvschrag@hachyderm.io @TrueNorthSpice@mastodon.world Wait, is that how I'm supposed to patch the holes in my jeans?

@deinol@dice.camp I like RTFM, but you have to find the RPG one, which isn't easy.

@Phangurl@vmst.io @spacemagick@mastodon.social For those who haven't kept up with #Ufo or #Space1999, Anderson Entertainment officially retconed then into the same timeline. Why was a science base on the moon so heavily armed? The Straker Doctrine.

@Talia @kirakira They need the water to grow the AI cabbages, in the sahara dessert (points to Italy).

@movq@tilde.zone It's the IBM mechanical keyboard I'm here for.

@jodmentum@apobangpo.space @sundogplanets@mastodon.social @peterrenshaw@ioc.exchange Microsoft did. The problem was maintenance. The expense of pulling up the pressure vessel to replace failed components was too much.

@randywalters@mastodon.cloud @nblr@chaos.social that is a great call. Is it a vanity call, or did you luck out in the draw?

@guyjantic@infosec.exchange I encourage you to look into the difference between large scale cloud models (crap) and small scale local models (possibly useful in limited circumstances). This is something just now coming out in research. When LLMs hit a certain size, they no longer produce useful results. If the AI needs a cloud data center, it is not worth it.

@guyjantic@infosec.exchange Did they run it through the Excel data import tools? Those can do some weird things if you aren't paying attention.

@jack@status.sexyferret.science @Quenby@cutie.city @municipaladhesives@kolektiva.social while government cheese stored in caves was a USA thing last century, the storage program was wound down and is no longer in operation. Though if you qualify, you can apparently still get a government cheese ration, but those are sent from regular distribution warehouses.

@allianceradio@mastodon.hams.social sadly I will miss tonight. Have fun!

@M0CUV@mastodon.radio @WiteWulf@cyberplace.social They only need to be cheaper than a years worth of printing and placing paper tags.

@darth@silversword.online Currently using windows due to job, etc. But I have hardware sitting next to me waiting for when I have the time to install a BSD. Both desktop and laptop. Oh, and some Raspberry Pis. Currently injured, so I can only sit for so long, and work takes up that slice of time. Got to survive first.
