Nobody's perfect. Every leader has their shortcomings. One of Janeway's is after 7 years Harry was still an Ensign. I think maybe she always saw Harry as the young man who was fresh out of the Academy. It didn't help when his parents contacted the ship because he forgot his musical instrument. And I'm especially galled that she promoted Tom. Tom??!! He showed questionable maturity and impulsivity bordering on a lack of self control. #HarryDeservedBetter #StarTrek #StarTrekVOY #GarrettWang
The Doctor is the best gift giver. 💙💙 I love this scene of Bill getting photos of her mother.

The very beginning of #TheFifthElement when they're showing the planet from space, there's a scraping sound. It really reminds me of the beginning of #StarTrek The Voyage Home when the space obelisk is sending out the signal looking for the whales. Anybody else notice the striking similarity? TBC, this is before we see the spaceship.
#DarkSideOfTheUniverse documentary is a fascinating look at dark matter and dark energy in the universe. Now I want to learn about #ParticlePhysics. #astronomy #physics #science
Loving #StrangerThings Tales of '85 #animated series! It's animated so not as scary as the live action but really entertaining and fun and you can't beat the music.
(Acting) Captain Harry Kim on the starship Nightingale. Yesssss!! #GoHarry! #HarryKickingAss #PayHeedJaneway 😆 #GarrettWang

@5ciFiGirl@starbase80.wtf exactly. I thought even children know first nations were called "Indians" because Columbus thought he got to India. Apparently, the writer was home from school that day. 😂 But you're right so wrong in so many ways...
Watching #GuillermoDelToro's #ScaryStoriesToTellInTheDark for the first time. I've never read the #book. I wonder if it's good? #cinema #film #horror

@USSJoshuaNorton@trekkies.social thanks very much! I'd never heard of Eric Serra before today.
I got this push notification on my Samsung phone. Looks suss to me. What do you think?

@johnhood@mastodon.social I've learned not to leave it in sleep mode bc my power inevitably goes out and I always get yelled at by the ps5. 😆
On #HBOMax, there's a documentary series called How The Universe Works. Well, they have seasons 5-11. First up, an episode on #Planet9. So of course I think of #StarWars... But it looks like it might be real. A HUGE planet 10 times the size of earth. 😲 https://astrobiology.nasa.gov/news/caltech-researchers-find-evidence-of-a-real-ninth-planet/

@5ciFiGirl@starbase80.wtf 😂😆🤣 Sure, Columbus first stopped at his local AAA office and got himself some maps and he made sure he brought along his GPS. 😂

@LingLass@vmst.io it's on Netflix in the US. Not sure who carries it in Europe. Maybe also Netflix since it's their production.

@USSJoshuaNorton@trekkies.social maybe I'm crazy but I'm getting Star Wars A New Hope vibes... Like Korben is Han Solo, (he even owes a lot of money to somebody), the Priest is Kenobi, Leeloo is Luke. 😂

@USSJoshuaNorton@trekkies.social 😂 yes, please do. For Science!
Good to know. I never think to listen to soundtracks.

@5ciFiGirl@starbase80.wtf right?! And the smell of laundry that's hung out to dry is the best. The dryers make them softer but nothing beats the outdoorsy smell of clothes hung outside on a line.

@5ciFiGirl@starbase80.wtf yes. Please do. Tbh I don't remember his sister but I haven't disliked an episode. He's grown on me. He's a big grumpy know it all but he's still family, you know what I mean? Lol

I'm not kidding here's the quote. What?! OMG Netflix, do better.

@USSJoshuaNorton@trekkies.social her IMDb says Ukrainian American. Usually that's edited by the person or the person's people. What makes you think she isn't?
Just looked it up that was written by "Steve Shelokhonov and Brad Cafarelli, Publicist."

@5ciFiGirl@starbase80.wtf it was really funny. He did a really good job with it. And Chris Judge! 😂 Thanks!

@USSJoshuaNorton@trekkies.social oh definitely. Hey btw, does Eric Serra perform all the music in the movie? I really like the song during the closing credits. A Little Light of Love?
Replying to
@USSJoshuaNorton@trekkies.social I have to say Milla Jovovich (Ukrainian-American) was really brilliant in the role of Leeloo in #TheFifthElement.

@johnhood@mastodon.social nice. I rarely play but when I do.
I don't pay for any yearly subscriptions to connect with other players. Does PS5 require one? I can't remember... 😂

@jacobrealo@tenforward.social 🤣 😆 right?! They're always hovering in space near earth. Like teenagers outside a convenience store in the 90s.
