he's made our lives VERY much worse
if you don't give a fuck about other people that's fine but do realise everyone can see that and values your views accordingly
is it just me or is the LLM model hype noise kind of quiet at the moment? are we reaching the point of diminishing returns?
reading the reddit channels for this stuff - latest models are ok, yeah they can regurgitate minecraft & variations on demand & if you have wrangling skills you can get ok stuff out of them but this is still SO far from "replace your staff" level
(& this is what everyone that understands this technology expects to happen BTW)
A. and I had a very random visit to Glasgow yesterday which I intended to write about since it was quite interesting revisiting somewhere I moved to 30 years ago!!

I mean I get why they give you the full Ableton suite for a trial but honestly it would be SO much easier for testing installs if I could just have that old Live Light thing they used to give away with hardware. The suite install is HUGE` and takes ages.....
obv my youtube feed has a bit of "ai" commentary in 'cos I'm kind of interested. Bear in mind I'm pretty picky what I watch, block a lot of channels etc so there IS sampling bias.

Currently re-reading the Wolf Hall trilogy. Henry VIII was a very trump like character- kind of fascinated that the vast majority of courtiers (ie people in his close orbit we know the names of) ended up executed. (& some that survived were executed by subsequent monarchs)
The idea of being so lured by power that even knowing it's odds on you will be killed for it - it's somehow still worth having? can't really get my head around that

I visited the tomb of the eagles at the turn of the century - was January & I'm pretty sure I was the only tourist on Orkney at the time. Got to have loads of these sites to myself.
I arrived at the seemingly random farmhouse with the tomb of the eagles and a chap came out to see me. I now realise that was Ronald Simison himself!!! he took me into his conservatory and showed a load of find. Then he said walk to a long the cliff until the wind drops - and there you are

I've only met two people who were absolutely never going to (consciously) sleep with a woman (one a man, one a woman - & I slept with both of them ;-) I've long since lost contact with either so they'll probably never find out they actually did ;-) ) (also 1/2 - I dont' get as many letters as you :-p)
transitioning didn't change my sexuality at all BUT it did make it make sense to me!
in unrelated news - I bought all the rest of the Jemma Topaz books I didn't already have (and her new one!)

Have adopted a policy of ignoring men nowadays too. But haven't had anything worse than the odd remark & lots of people are lovely
