@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu I I am blessed to be able live in one! Land and part of the sea are protected natural parks. A tiny island, no mass tourism (as in only few -and those are by law very small - hotels and apartments) an airstrip too short for the bigger, 737 alike, airplanes hence no direct flights , close to 100% self-sufficient in energy... A lttle (but also a 'you hate it or you love it') paradise! Only downside: only natural water resource is the winter rains. So unfortunately we need desalinating ocean water to keep crops alive and growing during the long, hot summers.

It's getting hard to get cotton clothesninstead of all those plastics poly-whatever mixes clothes are made of. Microfibre, also plastics. How will you stop those and change it back to natural fibres - not just cotton - if you want net-zero greenhouse emission in 24y time?

Because Google is allowed to do what they wants - as in ditching more and more privacy rights and EU not fining them - European governments still working with Google, Microsoft,.... for storing OUR PERDONAL data and acces to governmental apps (ID-check), age control by ID check, ... We know our rights. But @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu GDPR needs an urgent update after 10 years if our privacy is still as sacred for the EUC as it is for the people of the union...

@Jazzimat@mastodon.uno i was just about to mention the plastic "fabric" clothes and cloths! Horrible!! I was looking for cotton cloths the other day, but it's all microfibre (plastics). I save my t-shirts and (kitchen) towels from now on and do as my grandmother used to do: cut them up and use those for cleaning etc. Too bad even sewing thread is plastics nowadays.

Yes, some are double the price of a EU phone. But with a partly salt-battery and charging 1400 times instead of the big brand's 80/ times, and receiving updates for at least 5y.. these phones will in the end be cheaper. Unless you drop them dead of course. 😅

Even now there are counties where blackouts are possible due to use of more electricity due to whatever (airco's at the moment, I guess...) They will have to use fossil fuels to create enough electricity. Like right now gas prize is getting up because people should heat/cool, cook,.. with electricity. So on the other hand, to create more electricity (some) gouvernements use gas. How can they order to all drive an electric car when there's already shortage of electricity?

@wod0bow@mastodon.social Now you take a wrong example. Pixel phone IS Google buy one then you do that because you don't care for you privacy. There are more and more countries within Europe developing their own phone, with own OS and not Google dependent. I have one, because we've done some research. Yes it came with Google apps, because for some things you still need them - go blame the gouvernements! - but they can - and on my phone are - all be deleted. If you really want to de-google, as said, blame the gouvernements. I read there's another datacenter build in Holland, in a part what they also seem to call datacenter valley. Why? Because people still use the Microsoft and/or Google cloud, whilst wining over their privacy on their phone and computer...

If you don't want to keep up to date with them and don't acknowledge that it is growing, then that's your problem. There are alternatives, you just have to want to see them. Why do most of them keep complaining but not showing any initiative at all! But biggest question; why do they complain about sustainable initiatives so that these will be put back in the freezer and then complain about nothing is happening for climat change .. how many windmill parks, solar parks, ... are not build because of some group (s) protesting? But same groups are also protesting that nothing happens!!

I quit remembering the letters when half of the alphabet was added. Same with the flag. Because if you want it ALLl inclusive... What's the hetero flag? The single (wo)men flag? The young, retired, working, (following political groups).. and so on. The more separation in symbols, the more separation in people, instead of inclusion, imo.

Never heard of the psychology that things like this is much better for the work ambiance than just pushing on serious work? We had a table football at work. Even our jefe came to play sometimes. To have 10, 15 minutes fun and then back to work. I guarantee you, we were GOOD workers. I loved working there, even the long hours. Before that I worked where it was all serious, no chitchat allowed, nothing. I ran as fast as I could because the less hours I did there felt double as the longer day at the other job. Do some research, you'll find my last boss was not crazy but smart.
