@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu If I have right to disconnect than why I can't have right to privacy? I can't disconnect from Google/Apple or EU itself? Why? I understand that only EU elites and Gov have right to privacy? The Epstein friends are still intouchable, but average citizen of EU need to be under survilance? This is the new standards of EU?

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu when EU will take care of Google monopolistic practicies? There is almost no way to buy Android phone without GoogleMobileServices (GMS) GMS so intrusive that even EU countries GOVs Apps are dependend on them. Same with banking Apps. GooglePay in GMS killed other contactless payment options. The ones that remains are dependent on GMS. I'm so old that I remember when Microsoft was punished for preinstaling InternetExplorer. What Google is doing is worse.

@Tutanota@mastodon.social The consent request should have no consents selected by default. This is insane that you need to opt out instead opt in for dozen of the checkboxes of ads brokers.

@GrapheneOS@grapheneos.social Yes! GrapheneOS is great! The Team behind it too... But it is good to mention, that it is AOSP based... And AOSP code is not just 15 people work. Simmilar to OxygenOS or NothingOS. It is more like distribution than the separate OS. Realy good, polished and hardened distribution of Android. GrapheneOS, OnePlus or Nothing are still havy based on AOSP and the changes/patches that are for all Android OS'es and that are not a result of only 15 people work. P. S. I apriciate your work!

@Catha@masto.es You can gry to disconnect from Google/Apple but if almost all apps need GMS than you will never be disconnected. Why I need to stop using contactless payments, gov apps or other services if I don't want to use Google/Apple? There are ways to implement this services without GMS but there is no will do do that. More over the trend is to implement GMS instead the services that allready was working without GMS.

@GrapheneOS@grapheneos.social How about one more cool feature? Right now if User block mic, camera or disable location (by the toggle in quick settings) and the App ask about access for one of those it will reamain available/enabled after the APP closes. It will be great if it will return to the state before and the access was granted only for this specific App temporary. How can it work? I will explain in next post.

@zazen@ieji.de @GrapheneOS@grapheneos.social As in the changelog Pixel 9a and 8a are using same BCM4383 chip. The drivers update between 20260507 and 20260509 made it still in alpha when other devices (which didn't need driver update) go to Beta / Stable. After testing new drivers for 8a and 9a the Beta and Stable will be updated. If the issue is critical on Alpha stage it is not going to Beta or to Stable. Same in Beta. If there will be a critical issue in Beta than the Stable will be not updated to that build.

@mullvadnet They are so close to total control. They already have govs, banks, bigtech, media and They want absolutne power. They can cancel your choice (like elections) They can do terrible things like on the E-Island and They can even kill other nations without consequences. There are not enough people who can notice that. And there are even less ones, who want to react.

@GrapheneOS@grapheneos.social The issue is from at least Android 15 as I remember. Not sure IF this is regression. If I try to use anything above 24bit 48kHz than there is an issue. Tried few DAC. What is interesting the DAC based on USB 2.0 natively (dragonfly red) World without issues. Any other USB type C to 3.5" DAC I have issue... Tried few based on CX31993 and ES9318 (thought that maybe the issue don't affect ESS chips) and few "generic" ones but the only one working is Dragonfly Red - quite bulky solution.

  1. You have this feature on in settings.
  2. You blocked/disabled by a toggle in quick settings Mic/Camera/Location (at least one)
  3. Open App that need access to one of those for example mic.
  4. Popup to grant access appears (just like it is implemented now)
  5. You're granting access for Mic but it is only temporary until the app is running and only for this App. Other app need separate permision (popup)
  6. You are closing App and the access is revoked.

@callmelucas@ursal.zone @Tutanota@mastodon.social Tuta client encrypt storage of your e-mail and inside communiction. This dosen't change that whole communication will leak on other side.
E-mail by design is not private. If Tuta is fortress of privacy than after leaving your device there is open road with a flock cameras and the destination is a branch of the intelligence agency.
It gives the same fake privacy to user as encrypted DNS.

@ilumium@eupolicy.social We will see more and more LLMs in our lives. I have no issue with that if this LLM is:

  1. trained to do specific job and nothing else
  2. running on local HW
  3. I don't need to use it to use app
  4. don't send my data anywhere I understand that this is a directiion of changes and it could be good... if it will be controled and well executed.

For example in diagnostics like USG MRI or CT, LLM can help to find changes that human eye (even trained) can overlook.

@je5perl@eupolicy.social @mullvadnet@mastodon.online Yeah... Becouse this is "Normal" that you don't need even majority to pass the legislation. In Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was something like "liberum veto". It was a destructive construct, where one person could end any legislation screaming "Sisto activitatem!" or "Liberum veto!" or "I don't allow". There is no democration and even no consistency when sometimes the majority is needed to pass something and sometimes is enough to have minority to pass legislation.

@GrapheneOS@grapheneos.social Will the issue with external DAC (USB type c) with high-res stream (24bit 96kHz and above) will be fixed in next releases? The glitches when the screen is locked are annoying.

@GrapheneOS@grapheneos.social The issue with that standard is that if I grant acces for example to CameraApp and open anorher App that can also access the camera it can use it in the same time and even up to 1minute after I close CameraApp even if I will not grant an access. My sugestiom was to make access that is granted only for one app and revoke it after closing the app. Right now any app that can access camera will 'benefit' of enabling camera by another app.

@metr0pl3x@grapheneos.social I know that Samsung phones are not an option. But they are also a massive LCD/OLED manufacter. In this case Motorola can use Samsung screen in future GrapheneOS phone. Even Apple used and is still using LG/Samsung as a screen manufacters.

@Catha@masto.es yeah, sure, be realistic. How many people will buy Pixel phone (in some markets they are realy hard to buy) and degoogle it with GrapheneOS or other ROM? The issue here is that you don't have any choice on the market. More over on many markets big players are taking down their services and replacing it with Google/Apple. For example look at VISA/MasterCard. Both was ofering SIMcentric and HCE payments. Both resigned for ApplePay/GooglePay. For them this is simple cost calculation.

@Catha@masto.es one more thing is also good to mention... Windows Mobile/Phone died just becouse lack of Apps and dev support. More over many good alternative apps on that platform was killed by service providers. UE punished MS for adding browser to the OS. Somehow Google was not punished for GooleMobileServices on almost every Phone/App. Interesting don't you think?

@Tutanota@mastodon.social What is the point of using TutaMail? If you use TutaMail and receive or send emails to or from Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc., all those messages will still be visible, both those you send and those you receive.

@Tutanota@mastodon.social What exactly should they do better? Whatever Google, Microsoft or others do with their mail services it will not change that the e-mail is not a private form of comunication. You can't even ensure that this companies will not train LLM's on your e-mail. If you send e-mail from Tuta to G-Mail as repply, Google will have all data needed. Don't get me wrong as an internal mail server for your company Tuta can do that (if someone don't want to have own e-mail server) but nothing more.
