For the first time in 17 years, we’ve got a dog who’s not disturbed by the fireworks. Can’t express the relief of our lives not being ruined every July for three weeks.
Guess it’s also worth again pointing out that there is no good answer to “what is your favorite Steely Dan song?,” there’s only “what kind of weirdo you want to be seen as?”

@blag@typo.social My pitch (inasmuch as I have anyone to pitch to) is that this thing is such a different experience without the algorithm and advertising driving it. Not just that there’s no longer a formula deciding what you’re seeing — that the whole incentive structure changes for what to post.
My fear is that it turns out they all kind of like chasing that, or at least are too programmed to by now. It looks similar, but it’s too different.

You need to believe that the world can manage without your constant hot takes to accept that though.

@janeadams @kristinHenry Get tickets to the Gardner in advance. Well worth it, and kind of surrender to it not being a typical museum experience. You can read about everything in a room, and probably should at least skim so you get an idea, but you just kind of need to let it wash over you. There is A Lot there.
