RIP Stack Overflow. What to do now if you’re looking for up to the minute updates on recent bugs on your favorite platforms and software like Docker, NPM, Vite, etc.

@ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org $6.19 wow
So I was trying to figure out how much I might be paying if I still owned a car and tried this ballpark estimate:
29 miles/gal fuel efficiency
29 miles/day
1 gal/day = $6.19
$6.19 x 7 days = $43.33/week
$6.19 x 30 days = $185.70/month
I wonder how much people actually drive per day...

@thomasfuchs I feel like one of the biggest challenges in modern programming languages and frameworks at least for the web is long term dependency management and libraries that get outdated and lose support. That's what needs better solutions. And AI will just make this problem worse.

@kepano I’d love to know how they filter out things like API keys, passwords, attachments, screenshots, endpoints, code, and names from accidental leakage

Wow this video is insane. RFK Jr kept contradicting himself going from “the lockdowns were bad” to “the US had the most deaths” and “we have not proved that vax doesn’t cause autism” and “take the measles vax.” He is so unhinged.

“Unfortunately, the disoriented crew ran straight into the side of a mountain they likely never saw, resulting in the loss of every life on board. It’s the first known instance where military GPS jamming played a role in downing a civilian plane in US airspace.”
Cloudflare aren't exactly the "good guys" either but I do use them out of practicality and this feels like a big milestone.
What Cloudflare is doing is definitely going to speed up the inevitable mess and fragmentation of the web, but it does feel like the right thing to do. I guess?

@ryan2one3@mstdn.ca sorry, the backstory here (click on the link to see) is that some tech bro is supposedly posing as a European to express grievances against the US for supposedly treating the Germans poorly, but the language being used is racist as fuck so it's actually a hot mess
