Consistency is not magic. It does not guarantee that every repeated effort will succeed.
The point is narrower, but important: when repetition compounds, a small beginning can grow into a result far beyond its original scale.

Abridged thought process behind this: Got to practice painting more older looking people. Hmm, this needs a witchyish hat. What else should there be? Ah, some fluffy creatures. My husband can't work because he's in the final stage of sclerosing glomerulonephritis, a chronic and degenerative kidney disease that requires him to undergo dialysis every four hours.

I have always deeply admired gouache art, but I am no painter.
I WOULD like to learn though. So I have an old sketchbook from my MIL, and attempted my 2nd ever gouache piece. It's horrible, and I hate it, lol. THAT being said, I have ordered some better tools (paint, etc) and I'll be trying to fill the book. After all, how can I get better if I don't even try. ^^
