Hot weather urban #garden gleaning #salad: chard, nasturtium, purple #kale, snap peas, sorrel, pea shoots, parsley. Old pesto from freezer made w/CSA leftover garlic scapes & basil, sunflower seeds and olive oil. Dressing: Costco artichokes from back of my cabinet.
Three good things for #Friday:
Feeling good about really being heard by people I count on to keep my life going.
Heard from a friend I haven't seen in ages, asking if we can meet up and talk about a geeky #materials topic.

It's been an up&down kind of week, but #Friday delivered #moments that helped turn it around:
Woke up to a big #thunderstorm at 5am / caught up with a good #nap hearing gentle #rainfall toward evening.
It's been a #creative week in the #kitchen, clearing out random freezer #leftovers to make room for fresh #garden surplus.
And I spoke up about accommodations needed to better communicate with a #health provider.

Pretty good #Saturday:
Didn't want to heat up the house so I made #suntea in a #masonjar on the patio. Didn't want to turn the oven on either, so I set my plate and the frozen meal out on the hot patio as well, covered. #SolarCooking!
Went to bed when I was tired instead of pushing to stay up later. Woke up #rested for a perfect #sunrise.
Repotted a bunch of #sorrel which is becoming a regular additive to my #fresh green salads.
Three good things for #Monday:
Getting the hang of pruning & fertilizing haskaps so that they produce sweet, fully-grown ripe #berries.
Past self, who froze extra barley & saved pesto made with garlic scapes & basil (both from the CSA box) & sunflower seeds in jars in the freezer 18 months ago. Added red beans, diced tomatoes, salsa & soft-boiled egg for a wholesome #breakfast.
Two full nights of restful #sleep - in a row!
One good thing to start the day in the wee hours, and I promise I'll have more to add in the #morning.
More in the morning, which will hopefully be a new day.

Healthy #strawberry #seedlings taking root and beginning to mature.
#Haskap #berries are more abundant and riper after I pruned the bush at the end of winter.
Pre-made, pre-portioned frozen beans, rice and seasoning staples are awesome for a healthy brunch when I want something to go with fresh cut or frozen #vegetables, topped with salsa, curry or soup.
