Google chaos is fairly annoying. Hey @EU_Commission@respublicae.eu is it on your radar that any routing app to be used with #AndroidAuto has to be downloaded via GooglePlay. In return this means downloading from F-Droid will result in a non functional app irt androidauto. Is that compliant with DSA and DMA?

Edit: this seems to work fine in 1.18b2 when setting about:config zen.window-sync.enabled to false. So I might be back to working state.

was curious about #Cristal in #Nextcloud and add the the app. Ended up in the attached view. Are those known issues? The UI looks rather broken.
Since I ended up scratching my head: Apple buried this update under System Settings > Privacy Security > Background Security Improvements instead of software update. So if you were wondering where the hell this important security update was hiding - there you go.
What a great way to ensure users don't find such security updates 😂 🙈 🥴

macOS updates nowadays: music app got updates (I use jellyfin), safari got updates (using zen), iphone mirroring can now do xyz (not in the EU), freeform app does this (removed freefrom), podcasts app does that (I use antenna pod on android since it supports a sync feature cross devices via nextcloud which is really sweet), App Store: updating apps is now more convoluted and requires more clicks, new emojis 😳, RCS is now E2EE, but I prefer SIgnal and XMPP, music app shows lyrics (but it does not support .lrc lyrics files because Apple prefers a proprietary odd format to lock you in).
Oh well... I am not interested in playing in their walled garden. Guess moving to android and looking into linux was the right descision.

@zenbrowser the blank window option lacks essentials and spaces. So is it no longer possible to add seperate windows with different tabs while keeping essentials and spaces?
This broke my workflow and how it seems I can either go back to Firefox or use inefficient workflows.

@owa @EUCommission Due to the non-existent documentation of such matters it is hard to tell. I'd have to double check the HyperOS 3 situation with a factory reset device, which I currently do not have the time for. But I am pretty certain HyperOS comes pre-installed with both Chrome and Mi Browser, both of which in HyperOS 3.0.4.0 cannot be uninstalled. Chrome can be disabled but remains on device, while currently I can't find a disable option for Mi Browser. I can uninstall updates, force stop and that's that. I am not even sure a browser choice screen is in place currently in HyperOS.

@zotero @davidlohner Using macOS voices is possible: open read aloud dialog by clicking the headphone icon. Then switch to local. However strangely enough selecting Siri does not seem possible when using german siri 2 🤔

- when opening on external monitor Gajim opens centered (move app elsewhere and re-open will unexpectedly re-open the app centered)
- testing on macbook monitor: move app to left half of screen and re-open. Gajim opens on right screen-half
- internal screen again: move gajim to top half of screen and re-open: Gajim opens with identical window size but window placed in vertical center of screen
So there seems to be some awareness of window placement but it is not applied correctly or fully implemented maybe?
