Listening to 'The God Machine' by Blind Guardian.

Somebody at work referred to a concert "wall of death" as a "mosh cuddle".
That's what it is now.
Replying to
@HailsandAles@metalhead.club I need to mention that the band 'No Cure' is listed right above the band 'Spread The Disease'.

I am not going to do a mega playthrough…
But I have enough Mastodon in the Mastodon tank to listen to ‘Leviathan’ by Mastodon.
#Mastodon #MastodonBand #Metal
Random shout out for King Buffalo.
Absolutely solid Stoner/Sludge/Doom band.
I could listen to any of their last 4 albums in a heartbeat.
'Flight Of Icarus' by Iron Maiden is so great.
I want to jump up on the couch and yell "FLY AS HIGH AS THE SUN!!!"
I'm celebrating Eater Sunday evening via the tradition of listening to 'Mirror Reaper' by Bell Witch.
I guess I'm scratching that progressive itch.
'Colors II' by Between The Buried And Me.
Replying to
@brh@metalhead.club I had a particular ride with this one, having loved the prior album and then being initially unimpressed.
I do love it now, and has become a reliable go-to album for a good listen.

@brh@metalhead.club Kylesa was one of the earliest bands I got into... I think because I got convinced that they were Mastodon adjacent.
I have 3 of their albums on physical disc.
You may remember for a brief while I made Mix CDs and mailed them around to people. Kylesa made the 2011 and 2014 editions!

@brh@metalhead.club Great album!
(I feel I have at forced a few of the songs from subsequent album 'Spiral Shadow' on you at some point.)
Replying to
@brh@metalhead.club I've seen the album art pop up a few times, I'll look to check it out.
Listening to 'Spiral Shadow' by Kylesa.
Great album! So great! Very good. I love it.
One of my favourite albums to chill out to in the evening is 'Sorceress' by Opeth.
#ProgressiveMetal #Metal #Opeth
I've moved on to 'Violent Portraits Of Doomed Eacape' by Black Crown Initiate.
I love this album so much.
One reason I loved Rivers Of Nihil last year is because of how much it reminded me of this album.
Time for Anaal Nathrakh.
I moved on to 'Caravan' by Acid Mammoth and, well, I know I say I like a lot of albums...
HEALTH have a remix album titled R-TYPE I.
Those nerds.
Best of luck fighting off the Bydo empire fellas.
Listening to 'God Of Angels Trust' by Volbeat.
I'm uncertain whether I like this.
I do love a few of the singles. But I feel I am slowly learning to quite like the whole album.
Replying to
@lpl@metalhead.club I see the vocalist James Dorton had to apologise for associating with some right wing figures.
He's now joined Ne Obliviscarus, which is a generally well regard Australian Prog Metal band.

@MetalheadDana@metalhead.club @HailsandAles@metalhead.club Chalk another one for Mirror Reaper for me too.
(I’ll need to check that WitTR album too. I only know Celestial Lineage)

@jake4480 I recognised that style from the Fighting Fantasy books, and yeah he was a contributor.

@jake4480 I used to have a bunch of the original books, but they are all lost to time now.
That photo is from the 'Magic Realms: The Art Of Fighting Fantasy' book, released last year (I think), which I grabbed a copy of.
A lot of great art in that series.
Ok... I have listened to the new LOVEBITES album way too much over the last few days.
I do need to go find something else before I burn myself out on it.
There aren't many professional reviews about, but I did see a fan submitted review that said "There's so much music in the music in this album" which feels accurate.

This was a nice discovery… Andrew O’Neill uploaded one of his comedy shows.
I loved his ‘History Of Heavy Metal’ book from 2017.

New LOVEBITES album next week.
I'm sure I'll enjoy it, but I don't know if it will hit the same heights as their previous album.
Cautiously optimistic.

@m1rk0@social.defcon42.net Oh interesting. I've listened to Colors tons of times, so hearing it live will be cool.
'What's in my bag?' with HEALTH.
The first pick is the soundtrack to Natural Born Killers.

@lpl@metalhead.club I wasn't sure who was who.
Andy Thomas was listed at guitarist in BCI and they've now joined Rivers Of Nihil.
Nick Shaw ws bassist for BCI.
But I didn't see exactly who said what.
Eh... I'm fairly tolerant of people who say something stupid and apologise for it.

Specifically the album ‘Dear’, which I’ve always thought was pretty easy to enjoy.
