I am telling people about the problems with autonomous cars, but people just listen to the advertising

It's nice to see others also trying to keep up their empathy.
I cried when going to a protest because people where together for a good cause. And I grieved the future that we could have had if only we were at the type of protest that gets listened to.

@futurebird@sauropods.win thanks for letting me think different about ants.
We had a colony in our kitchen when I was a child and I was very afraid of them because I read a book where ants ate a man. I would kill any ant I see in my flat.
But it is true, I feel less for insects, a little more for fish and the most for fellow milk producing animals.

@mmdolbow @FreakyFwoof AI is not just a tool.
AI is a system of extracting money and moving it to the most rich people.
The hardware needed for AI destroys cities, water supply , energy supply and any chance we might have had of avoiding some of the bad stuff in the climate breakdown.

@smallsolar this is a great idea. I am looking for a way to place solar panels on my balcony. My landlord said no, when I asked. So some stealth option could still work.
Someone has experience with those solar tables? is a battery on the balcony in the sun a very bad idea? or could it still work?

People are going to pay 50.000$ to see the last glaciers before they die. and they dont mind catching covid or getting stuck.
"The number of cruise ships in Greenland has risen 50 per cent in the past year to 600, Jensen said. Last year, the Joint Arctic Command did one medical evacuation and so far this year has done five"

@mayintoronto I like boards with cards (there is nextcloud deck, which looks a bit like trello)
I use a board to collect all those - I want to read this later URLs
there is a smartphone app, so I can just attach stuff to the board in a "has to be sorted later backlog" column. then some days I sort, set dates and reminders. It helps to not lose track of tasks. but it needs work in maintenance.

like there have been a lot of crazes in tech. going to agile. automatisation. putting everthing into containers.
and my tech friends believe it is just another one of those. but AI is destroying so much more then any of those other things could.
I will continue running against that wall with you.

CW #Police Violence
"You choke him out until he tells you the truth. You know it is kind of funny, but a lot of policemen will get a kick out of it."
I am afraid I believe that it is like this in other police forces as well. White straight people don't believe me. Unless they have been to a climate protest and see it happening themselves.

@msh @j_bertolotti I have seen the screen of a person saying this.
they had made an account on a server that had shut down in the mean time.
there was literally nothing going on in their feed.
I explained to them, that this isnt the whole of fediverse.
I dont know how they could believe that nothing going on isnt some error but that the platform is literally dead.
