@sarahjamielewis I don't know if you're familiar with Steam. It requires a sort of age verification to view a video games page. You have to select a birth date to comply with regulations similar to what's happening here. Most folks just scroll down to 1945 or something insane allowing them to view the content and also screwing up any real data. I think this will be the compromise moving forward unless some sort of visual age verification or ID turns out to be a requirement.

@phocks The real pain point is that these prices make the current "middle class" the poor so they can handle it longer, but the actual poor are now unsaveable. Prices will never really go back down from here on out because people are still, by and large, buying.

If DEI supersedes Nazis, slave labor, anti consumer practices and the continued wealth inequality issues etc then you do you! Wrap your heart in an aluminum, unibody package and keep on fighting for the trillion dollar company!!

@dangillmor@mastodon.social the average user of TikTok, or any platform really, doesn't know or care who has their data. No one cares how the sausage is made and that fact is directly related to the condition the US is in. The time to pay attention was 30 years ago.
